The weather is getting cooler, the days are getting shorter, and, most importantly, the fish are getting hungry!
Fall fishing is my favorite because the big redfish, trout, flounder, and snook are really aggressive.
They'll hit a variety of lures now, but one option stands out above the rest: a big paddletail.
In this video, you'll learn why this is the best lure for this time of year, plus how to use it.
You'll also see some fun fish-catching footage of me using this type of lure that goes to show this isn't just theory, it's working really well on the water right now.
Have any questions about fall fishing lures?
What’s your go-to fall lure?
Let me know down in the comments!

I love the content on this channel, and I definitely feel like you deserve to be paid quite well for the work you all do. I just want to point out how ridiculous it is for you to go on about 'how we're not sponsored so we can give unbiased reviews and then immediately recommend a product that has your name on it. Either you don't make a cent selling those paddle tails that have your name on them(out of your own storefront), or you just think that us viewers are braindead. I don't personally care if you are sponsored or not by the products you endorse(you guys give out great info, and have helped me and others catch fish) but I could go without the moral high ground bits.

Just wanted to say thank you to Salt Strong for all your help. My fishing ability has improved by at least 50%. My percentage would be much higher. But this past 6-7 months I have been trying to get more confident using artificial. I have been using nothing but slam shady paddle tails. I'm still not very good using artificials but your videos have helped me improve a lot. Thank you Salt Strong.

Live finger mullet or live shrimp and bait soak method on a jighead or carolina rig and just sit and wait is the way to go to catch redfish.

Okay now I'm confused. Just watched another video from salt strong and was told that the paddle tails don't work well in the fall and winter months

This is a very common thing in fishing.. It is extremely annoying for beginners. Almost everyone has different opinion and they present it as facts. The problem with this is you cant learn correctly. What I'd suggest is join a fishing group or something and watch experienced people go to work.

Good stuff Wyatt. New kayak? I was enjoying watching another fellow paddler, not many on KZfaq. Nice upgrade though. Can't go wring with Old Town.

The issue we have with jig heads on plastics is that our target fish, California halibut from the surf wont hit a jig with a large exposed hook. IF the gap is to wide the halibut will pick at the tail but not really commit. So were looking for a strong long shank low gap type jig head. Our bait were trying to imitate is northern anchovies which follow the same pattern of growing to max sizes by fall. Any suggestions on a jig head that would meet out needs, thanks

What do you use in fall/winter when the fish are zoned in on micro bait? Tiny shrimp and bait fish everywhere. Specs and reds feeding everywhere but don't wont touch my lures even with pro cure

I don’t like using loop knots, but I keep reading how great they are. Do you believe I would catch more fish with or without a loop knot?
@bl4643
@bl4643 3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the lure, it allows more action. Also if the knot isn’t perfect, I have noticed they tend to fail more. If I want serious action I tie a uni knot and cinch it down with the loop open. Closes after a big hit
