Who else here got a new reel , and can’t figure how to swap the handle . Me 😂😭

I’m a lefty, but no one in my family is, so I learned how do everything as a righty. Then adapted that to my left hand that said I always hold the rod in my left hand when reeling with baitcaster or spinning gear. I will switch hands casting though depending on the situation. It has come in very useful especially when skipping lures.

I'm right handed. But absolutely can not stand reeling with my left hand. As a kid, I would flip the rod upside down to reel with my right hand. Lol

With the screw on handle, when I switched it from right to left the handle let's me reel backwards instead of locking when I reel the wrong way. Then it becomes loose and unscrews.

Should the cap be rotating along with the handle when reeling ?

I reeled the old Mitchell 300’s with my left hand and always have used my left. When I began to use baitcaster’s I just bought the left handed models which was easier for ME to use and still do til this day!

Lol, I just had to buy two more handles for my epixors... the new ones I received have metal knuckles instead of plastic thank goodness. Why the factory made them plastic the first time is a question that will boggle my mind until the end of time

Mine has another little white cap from in the inside were u unscrew the first cap and doesn't come out idk what to do on the tag it says left or right hand retrieve but I can't switch it

I just bought a lews LLS 100 that after I took the handle off one side, it doesn't fit in the hole on the other side??? Any help? I'm really wanting to use it tomorrow.

for spinners makes more sense to hold the rod on your right hand and crank with your left (if you are right hand dominant) because most of the load and the action of the lure comes from the rod and not the reel because spinners are not designed to winch (like conventionals or baitcasters) also, is nice to see that, since rods in general have become lighter and stronger than before, also now baitcasters and conventional are more common than ever with left side handles. i really just cant stand seeing people (like 90%of australians, cast with the right hand and arm, then switch hands to crank (because they are right hand dominant) and waste time switching sides to crank. also, jig the rod with their left hand (when speed jigging or slow jigging) and then, in a long fight with a large fish, have to switch to their right hand because it is their stronger arm, then switch back the rod to their left hand to reel again and more often than not, loose their catch in said back and forth..

I bought a shimano stradic 8,000 for saltwater. I am right handed and reel in with my left. The reel works perfectly fine on the opposite side but will not move at all on the left side. Any idea why?

What I want to know is how to stop the bolt on the other side from screwing itself tight as you reel? I got a rod reel combo on discount because the spinning reel had no handle. I’m trying to buy a replacement handle but I need to know how to figure out the right handle size. Please help. 😊

I have a Sharky III and the retrieve does not change sides left to right even though it says it does... I've never had a reel where I could not figure this out lol... help!! The right side has no threading and the handle is a screw insert

I forced myself to reel with my right hand on spinning reels it pulls the Main gear into the pinion since I switched I haven't had any gears strip or slip I've never heard anyone talk about this
