MUSSELS : In roughly 12-15 months, mussels reach marketable size (40mm)
Mussels are widely used as bio-indicators to monitor the health of aquatic environments in both fresh water and the marine environments.
Mussels can be smoked, boiled, steamed, roasted, barbecued or fried in butter or vegetable oil. As with all shellfish, mussels should be checked to ensure they are still alive just before they are cooked
I never used to eat these pool filters until only about 3 years ago, now I rate them !!

I bought a tinny and some camping equipment, in 2 weeks I leave Perth for a trip around Australia on a permanent basis!! I was inspired by watching videos like yours Chris. I learned that a house on a street in a suburb inside a city is a shit way to live so at the age of 58 I’m off to see what life on the road is like 👍

Greetings! It is always interesting to see how people go hiking in other countries. Especially if the differences are very large. I also went camping in May. But the air temperature was much lower. Sometimes in the mornings there was frost, and I had to sleep in a downy sleeping bag. It was in Russia, in the north of the Tver region, on Lake Seliger. But I also caught fish, such as pike and rudd. And at night I listened to shortwave radio, sitting by the fire. There were wild boars in the forest nearby. They grunted and rubbed against the trees. The sound of the radio scared them off. As for mussels, I happened to collect them at low tide in the White Sea and the Barents Sea. There is an important rule: you need to cook them as quickly as possible. From prolonged heat treatment, mussel meat becomes tough. Mussels are good with rice, you can also with pasta. It is necessary to add red pepper, garlic and soy sauce. A special dish that most likely is not known in Australia is mussels with buckwheat and egg. Try it, it's very tasty. Fried fish is also good with buckwheat.

Awesome adventure Chris. One of your best. I love the salt over fresh video, so much better for quality ingredients. Loved the classical music with mussels dish, gave a sense of fine dining. I rate mussels too, especially in a wine cream sauce. Once again you entertained us and made us jealous with amazing atmosphere and beautiful scenery. Keep em coming, especially the saltys. More jealous, every video I watch. Your locations are amazing. The personalised fire pit is a nice touch, but I fear that there are as many holes in your hat now as there are in the fire pit😁,.
