Rarely has a more righteous musician walked the face of this Earth. Luv ya, Sam. Old Hoss as well.

I never knew that the legendary Randy Wood removed the back and thinned the braces on “Hoss”. This makes so much sense now. The F-5s from the 1930’s are not known for their timbre and projection. The few I’ve seen in person weren’t as impressive tone-wise as ones from the mid 1920’s.

Sorry Sam, I didn't get the name of that Norman tune. Try as many times at the end as I could, just didn't get it. Audio quality was that poor. Sorry, my friend

Hoss the boss. LOL

Great content... but as others have noted, the audio quality is dire. It appears to have been recorded with an on-camera mic, and there is a lot of room reflections that render much of the dialog barely audible. A shame. A decent overhead mic (or lav) plus a second mic on the mandolin would have made a world of difference in production values.

Some people are incapable of acknowledging greatness when they see it.

i can make out maybe every other word of this, and turning up the volume doesn't help. This is just one long unintelligible mumble.
@Mandolin19445 жыл бұрын
Just for the record it seems completely intelligible to me and I do not have good hearing? Part of the problem is Sam often speaks while looking down and that does not help.

i cant hear a thing he is saying, yup iam a little deaf but how annoying
@gregoryedwards80043 жыл бұрын
Just another Opinion but that really doesn't sound as good as many other mandolines Ive heard and played from that era. Maybe its the over-popularised Bush sound... maybe it's the Mando it's self I don't know Sams Good at what he does but if that his favorite one then I'm looking even more forward to listening less and less to the Ewww Grass crowd
