About 4 years ago on I-40 east in west Nashville, i look over and there's Sam Elliott driving a silver classic Corvette. Gave the nod. Got the nod back. Awesome day.

My father used to say something that would roughly translate as "Medals aren't awarded to those who do their job but to those who go beyond what is expected of them".

in modern times, you just buy the medals and the MSM tells people you are better than they are. USA just pardoned Blackwater *TERRORISTS* and are trying to kill the man who exposed the terrorists.

@@donHooligan Not from the US or any english speaking country...My father used the word "medal" as a stand-in for any sort of reward. Why do people have to bring politics into everything? Do you think I'm defending giving medals to war criminals? If not, why bring it up? Jesus Christ. The sheer fact I said "would roughly translate" should hint you at the fact I'm not an english native so what's your point? Things are unfair in the US? ok, great, doesn't mean what my father or Sam Elliot said is wrong. If you go above what's expected of you you'll usually get rewarded.

@@damienholland8103 What's on film does not dictate what I admire in a person, in fact, movies and their actors don't come to mind at all. Thankfully I'm blessed to know people personally who inspire me, people who's veritas humbles me. That said, if you knew Sam, you'd know he walks his own talk. He's a gentleman and he shoots straight.

Now That's a funnnny-azz line!!😁 My first 'Whoa!' moment with Sam, was years and years ago, when I happened to tune in to the movie "The Quick And The Dead!"😉😎.....(and hey, I'm not even a Western movie fan!)

I use this notion every day at work, and I’m just a cleaner. Go over the top and impress your employer. It goes a long way. I went from room attendant to executive housekeeper in 6 years through nothing but hard work.

That’s funny, because when I see Sam, I’m always reminded of the first movie I saw him in, named “Lifeguard.” And my first thought about his performance in that was: for a guy who was probably hired because of his good looks, he’s doing more here than is expected/required.
