#PadmaVibhushanShriBabasahebPurandare is very well known #Writer, #Dramatist and #Historian recognized for his works dedicated to the life of #ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj. He was born on 29th July 1922 near #Saswad in #Pune district. Babasaheb Purandare's personality is a combination of pride in history, inquisitiveness to check the truth, patience, perseverance, memory etc. Along with these qualities, his personality is also characterized by intense intelligence, analytical ability and extraordinary writing talent and rhetoric to express inspiring history. As well as in-depth study, discipline, punctuality are the special features of his nature.He settled in Pune from his youth and started working with #IndianCouncilofHistoricalResearch. He had participated as a researcher in the research project of 'History of Maratha- 1740 to 1761' conducted by the University of Pune.
Babasaheb Purandare has given more than twelve thousand lectures on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj till the year 2015.He along with #SudhirPhadke took part in the liberation struggle of #DadraNagarHaveli, which was fought for the rest of the Portuguese-occupied India after India's independence.He mainly wrote descriptive writings on historical subjects, writing fine novels as well as writing plays and directing plays called #JanataRaja and #पुरंदऱ्यांचीदौलत,#पुरंदऱ्यांचीनौबत,#गडसंच, #शेलारखिंड.With the aim of spreading Shivcharitra from house to house, he made #RajaShivchhatrapati a book through untiring research and hard work. To date, 16 editions of this book have reached about 5 lakh households. He donated lakhs of rupees to various organizations from the sale of books and lectures. With the #MaharashtraBhushan award which he received in 2015, he kept only ten paise out of ten lakh rupees and donated another fifteen lakh rupees to the cancer hospital.
