It's not really off road,same as concrete
@andrewroberts61236 ай бұрын
That's incorrect. He's still in the wind. He's passing the other rider, because he's leaning back, taking weight off the front tire, which causes less drag to occur between the front tire and the sand. This technique doesn't work on asphalt, where less drag occurs on your tires. Laying down on the tank is faster on asphalt, because laying on the tank causes less wind drag, than sitting back and letting the wind hit you directly in the chest.
@NicolaSartoriVomiero6 ай бұрын
@@andrewroberts6123exactly. He is just trying not to sink the front tyre in the sand in order to go faster reducing the friction with the sand, not with the air. Really useful on soft sand, also less dangerous because in soft sand is easy to sink the front and crash. Every snowboarder use this technique in soft snow.
@andrewroberts61236 ай бұрын
@@NicolaSartoriVomiero Yeah. Also when you lean back like that, your front tire is easier to control and your motorcycle travels a nice straight line, and your front tire doesn't slide from side to side. 😎👍 🏍️💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨

Holy extended rolling peak power dyno run Batman! Weighting the rear tire like that helps reduce the loss in traction and speed that being in a dry lake bed causes. Still there is loss - if he is going 123 in the dirt, that bike has to be capable of 130 on pavement. Impressed it's gearing can handle that speed and still be rideable in normal tighter conditions. Likely has a non standard wider ratio transmission with a taller 6th gear in it, and the hefty power to pull it obviously. Cant say I've gone over 100 in a dry lake bed, but have ridden 70 in sand and you do get over the rear wheel and get the front skimming. The gyro effect of the wheels makes the bike feel like a train at that speed - it wiggles a bit but wants to go straight. Riding at speed in a straight line in the dirt is a good allegory for life itself. Guide it but ya can't absolutely control it, and stay on the gas ;)
