Now this is something new for this day and time. Here we have a Singer in her early 20s singing Jazz naturally and beautifully, not trying to imitate the Stars of old. She sounds beautiful as herself, making me a new fan. Young, fresh, beautiful, talented. Singing the Standards

@@hassanwali2020 I understand if you think so, I just don't. Many up and coming entertainers don't necessarily like to be compared to a Legend and I guessed why.... they believe in their own talent. She sounds nothing like Vaughn and I love Vaughn. 😊

I hear a lot of Sarah Vaughan inspiration in her singing. Beautiful voice all around natural. She won the Sarah Vaughan competition in 2019.

I am 54 years old and I am a jazz fan from at least 40 years. I've never written a review or a comment on the web but i cannot avoid to write somenthing about this Samara's performance becasue I feel that she is a rare pearl from another galaxy, bringing the spirit of Billie and all the other queens of jazz back to Earth to awaken in all of us the essence of our soul made of universal beauty. You know what I like about it? It's a little bit the PAST of jazz. No tricks. No envelope pushing. No gratuitous solos. It's THE SONG, with clear words, melody, harmony and rhythm, all rendered with the highest levels of taste and musicianship. That's the stuff for me. (Some say Bach and Brahms were backward-looking. I guess you could support that opinion if you have to -- but history has been very kind to those guys, and for good reason IMHO.)

It’s always her control and precision on the softly sung notes that make me pay attention. Belters are a “dime a dozen”, good technical and expressive singers much rarer. Samara is one of those.

@@johnliddell7584 Really nice performance, thankfully for sharing. Samara takes after multiple jazz singers of the earlier era so it's understandable there would be some nuances that are common to jazz-style singers, I am not sure the lady in the video you sent was one of them, directly anyways.

I guess she’s what they’d call an “old soul”. I first heard Samara & Pasquale on “Let’s dream in the moonlight”. I’m glad talents such as these aren’t confined to decades past.
