My grandfather retired as a major general in 1984, he was in charge of the Ordinance Corp. There is a picture of him getting a commendation from Field Marshal Manekshaw in my parents office. I look at that picture every time I go over there. Jai Hind Azoba. Rest in Peace.

Caught the first-day show of "Sam Bahadur"! After Major, this one was a pleasant surprise. It's got everything-comedy, war, heroism, romance, and that soldier pride. Vicky rocked it; his acting had me hooked in Raazi, but this time, he owned it with a bang! I give this movie a solid 4 stars out of 5. It's a biopic so making it that interesting for me to not even realize 2 hours passed is a big deal.

I met Sam in 1960s and he was exactly like as shown in the movie. VIcky and Meghna Gulzar has done some incredible work. SAlute to all the team to bring out one of indian legends on big screen. In fact, we should have more biopics and movies on such great indians including Meghnad Saha, PC Mahlanobis, Ramanujan, CV Raman,Abdul Kalam, Salim Ali, Shanti swarup bhatnagar. We need to save our heritage for coming generations.

my friend, 5 star ranked general Sam Bahadur did great for Bharat/India. I admire but there will be no more withdrawal is wrong statement. In 1965, Amritsar region till beas river ordered by Gen Sam to withdrawal. There were superior tanks given by American to pak, paton tank. India have russian tanks. Hope they have shown the true story of Brave Sam sir. Stories on how he fought the war, how he saved lives of soldiers when they were forced for war by congress & the Indian army was not ready for the war. How he was troubled by the congress after his retirement as his pension was stopped . A brave man , a great soldier who always said my Country comes first .. Sam sir a great personality, he never let Indira gandhi do things that could harm the country or the Indian army. How he with his soldiers make pakistan surrender .. stories about him passing comments on pakistan ... Stories about him are worth listening... Waiting for the movie release... A proud Indian army soldier & then a parsi ...
