Samबहादुर is a tribute to Field Marshal Sam HFJ Manekshaw, MC, India's first Field Marshal and a legendary Army General. His career witnessed the shaping of India's geopolitical borders, and his life was marked by significant milestones, from fighting in World War II to being the Chief of Army Staff during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, that led to the creation of Bangladesh.

Just because someone else makes something you dont understand doesn't mean you have to judge those who do. Sam Bahadur on its own is a fantastic film with fantastic work by Kaushal. No need to put anyone else down

Wow, I am touched. I have served the Army for 34 years and was the first chief of my career. I was unfortunate that I never served under him. But I met him closely on 4 occasions, one of them being when he addressed us at the Higher Command, and the second when at DSSC, where I was fortunate to get my MSc degree from his hands. On both these occasions he took time to interact with us informally. He was jovial. I heard his story of the 1971 war - his historical conversation with Indira Gandhi. Each time the twinkle in his eyes and the wink was same when he said, "I have seen many angry women, including my wife, but she was the angriest woman I ever met." I always hero worshipped him. And when I see these scenes of DSSC and Fort Williams, I do get Goose Bumps. I used to always feel bad how the Govt treated him, particularly when no VIP attended his funeral. Thank God, atlast the nation has started to acknowledge his contribution to the nation. Thanks to Ronnie Screwvala, Megna Gulzar, Vicky and all those who made it happen My salute to them

This is one of the best movie I have ever seen in theatre based on our real life hero's , Don't miss a chance to see this movie in theatre, if you do that then it's going to be a big big mistake you guys are commiting, Real vibe will be felt in theatre only, this movie gives you the full flashback from 1940's to 1980's, Vicky kaushal is at his best in this movie, Don't invest Animal kind of movie it won't teach anything , it just give violence & violence but when you will come out after watching sambahadur you will more confident as indian & feel more proud on our legendary heroes ❤❤❤

My grandfather was a Station Master in Wellington at the time! I’d heard stories about how Gen Manekshaw would stop by his office during his walks and chat with him. My oldest uncle, who would play in my grandfather’s office, got to meet him and Gen Manekshaw made quite an impression on him. Fast forward to 1971: my uncle was a newly minted second lieutenant in the Indian Army and fought on the western front under Gen Manekshaw’s command.
