Samबहादुर is a tribute to Field Marshal Sam HFJ Manekshaw, MC, India's first Field Marshal and a legendary Army General. His career witnessed the shaping of India's geopolitical borders, and his life was marked by significant milestones, from fighting in World War II to being the Chief of Army Staff during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, that led to the creation of Bangladesh.

Being the son of a Bangladeshi freedom fighter, my dad used to tell stories of a select group of civilians who received training directly from Field Marshal Manekshaw and carried out some of the most daring guerilla operations during our Liberation War. Hoping we get to see some glimpses of it in the film.

Being a Pakistani i really feel bad what Pak Army n Politicians did to our brothers from Bengal Betweem Sam Won WW2 and 1971. He lost 47,62 and 65. So his legacy is somewhat in the middle. Still i love soldiers as they fight for their motherland.

Those of you who came to know about Sam Bahadur just after the movie announcement, I suggest all of them to take out 1 hour of yours and watch an extreme masterpiece of Sam Bahadur which is a lecture of him and you'll get that on KZfaq itself. As someone who has admired him for a decade now feels so good that now people are curious to know that masterpiece. He was a legend and words fell short for him, his aura, his charisma, his courage is phenomenal and second to none. Legends have long noses and so does he.

Yes, he was asking a Jawan his name, and the Gurkha replied with the suffix ' bahadur '. Sam further asked him if the Jawan knew HIS name, and got this answer after a little hesitation...Sam ..? bahadur !!! From there on it stuck. Kudos Vicky Kaushal. Good job team
