@@ansanpsam I had switched from a Samsung phone. I still prefer the look of OneUI but NothingOS is definitely snappier and more lightweight. The animations are better too!

I'd put Smart Launcher above all other launchers for the automatic category sorting alone. The fact that you don't have to do it manually and you can have it done for you, leaving you to just fine tune things is great. Grid spacing can't be as tight as Nova, for better or for worse, but the app drawer sorting is great.

The problem with custom launchers is that if you're using gesture navigation, the animations are not fluid (especially while going in and out of apps or going home) while they are super smooth and dynamic on the stock launcher.

I use Niagara Launcher, it's perfect for one handed use and it is just so simple and elegant. Running it also on Zenfone 9 :)

The day my phone gets all of these customization options integrated in, or all of them in one app, rather than 100 apps cluttering my app drawer. Data security and privacy as well are also top priority.

Mmm It would've been worth mentioning that Modes and Routines, with Modes and Routines Plus, on Samsung phones literally lets you automate EVERY SINGLE thing you could ever do on a phone. You can run touch macros with the MaR+ module from Goodlock, which records whatever actions you do, and allows you to automate that to whatever conditions you set. My one gripe with MaR is that there needs to be more variables for controlling on and off conditions... but it's still really, really good... there is no need for ANY of the other apps he mentioned if you have MaR

@sambeckman Thanks for replying! Yes, I just figured as you mentioned Goodlock it'd be worth mentioning MaR, for level 6. Do you use MaR when you use Samsung's? Any opinions on it vs. the other apps you mentioned?

@sambeckman I highly recommend checking it out... it's surprisingly comprehensive, especially when combined the MaR plus from GoodLock. But I do notice that your channel does seem to focus on independent, third party apps a lot, and you make them too, so I do understand if it's not really worth your time looking into MaR. I just wanna point out im watching on an S22 Ultra and the video fills out the screen natively. I thought I had the video cropped by zoom and I get triggered when I know there are parts of the frame cropped off. I wish more people would shoot in this ratio.

I switched to android back just for the customization but oneplus killed it. You can't use third party launchers like you used to as it creates the annoying lag when you use the home gesture.

Nova launcher 8 beta isn't working for me any more just gets stuck on home screen can't access apps was told by them it is a bug in android 14 that Google needs to sort out using s23 ultra.

I've used Nova Launcher for quite a while now, and it is quite light. Unless your default UI already lags, Nova shouldn't make much of a difference

Hello everyone, I have a problem with Nova lancher. When you access the home screen from any app, the icons load with a certain lag. I don't want to use the navigation buttons. It's quite annoying. Does anyone know any solution?

I get the idea to customised an android phone but it's kinda sucks cause you have to download alot of apps just to "customised". I just wish I could have more options without apps just to make it minimalist UI.

It's not that hard to do and One UI is minimal enough with a few easy tweaks without having to download anything. If you want something clean and well set up then you have to put some work in, that's life

@@RSgaming1337 good lock works super well with One UI and gives you endless (not exaggerating) options to customise your device. From keyboard , notification shade to recent menu to lock screen. Everything. And it doesn't feels like it bloats my device. Definitely recommended

@thepronoob50 however, good lock is not available in every country. Therefore, if you're in a country where it isn't accessible, you still have to resort to third party apps. Quite frankly, those do not work as seamlessly as the real one.

The link for shortcut creator in the play store is not compatible with Pixel 8 pro (or perhaps with the latest version of Android 14). It says it's for older devices. I also could not find the app in APK mirror. Any ideas?

Found the apk. However when using the widget option and choosing an app, the processed app is "small" and not the same size as the original app. It doesn't seem like the settings allow to resize the app/widget unlike shortcut maker. All I want is to remove the app names from the icons.
