I’m astonished how some can disregard the Sunnah on the basis of fallibility of the shahaba who are the very same people that transmitted the Quran we have today! It reminds me of the how Christians get view the Trinity without understanding the absurdity of their arguments.

If every detail put in Quran, Quran will be like 10 storey thick book! Thats why we need Hadith to explain what Quran is saying. Quran is like high level understanding. To get the details, we go to Hadith

SubhanAllah. He's saying it's an assumption that the same people brought us the Qur'an in terms of preservation as the hadith. If it's an assumption can he name who it was? If he doesn't know that's even worse....it's pure BLIND faith because he is saying effectively he has no idea who the people are.

Never, never, never attempt to quote Qur’an in front of Hafidh'ul Qur’an, and then also try to attempt tafseer of what you don't obviously know. And on top of that, reject hadith! "Obey Allah (SWT), and obey Rasullah!" = Qur’an & Sunnah (hadith), & Hadith Qudsi.

Muhammad Ali is wrong on that qibla arguement' Allah is simply saying: He made the command for the people of the previous' in their books to face a different qibla' that commandment never given to Prophet Muhammad-pbuh' to directly order non of his followers to directly face that previous qibla' Allah is only given our Prophet Muhammad-pbuh' the notion of that past information! Yes and of course that previous qibla' was Al Aqsa

If you don't know the full extent of what you are quoting or talking about and also keep say you don't know fully what you are arguing about why not just listen and learn from someone who is giving you a logical answer with references then go back and study if this guy is right or wrong! Ma Sha Allah Muhammed has great patience, my blood was boiling at this misguided brothers arrogance and ignorance.

I am not a Quranist or anything like that. But his argument was I think there are hadiths that could never have been uttered by the prophet or a certain action done by the prophet. And that's true, there are hadiths like that.

I am with the guy on the left.. sfor example Surah 66 verse 1 and 2.. Quran do not tell any details about the incident but we find in detail what the incident was..

To simplify the argument is like this; -Ali overheard Dawan, most likely misunderstood him. -Ali ask Dawan his position, he only accept hadith and sunnah in agreement with the Quran. Which either means; 1)any hadith and sunnah that may seem to have reliable source but contradicts the Quran is automatically rejected. 2)he ONLY accept hadith and sunnah both appear or mentioned in or by the Quran. 3)he basically accept hadith and sunnah word per word similar to the Quran. -Ali chose number 2, Dawan number 1. Thus, both position was not properly address. -Ali imply that Dawan is basically rejecting the hadith. He said hadith disagreement with the Quran is neutral. (Wrong choice of words, should have been hadith not mentioned by the Quran like how to pray etc. Hadith not in disagreement means a contradiction like something haram became halal) -Dawan trying to explain his position and brought up the Quran regarding Prophet Musa but the info was false. The intention was merely an example from a layman. (His mistake, should've been a simple clarification of his stand) -Ali who wouldn't let it slide was very strict when bringing up the Quran accuracy. -Dawan explaining his position but failed again. -Ali making a strawman argument that if the Quran exist such a statement, hadith with the similar statement is useless. -Dawan trying to explain his position that man are fallible. Actually trying to explain the weak and fabricated hadith. -Ali generalising Dawan meant ALL hadith. Then ask why didn't he reject the Quran. Absolute strawman. -Dawan failed miserably again explaining how the Quran is preserved, maybe trying to give a rush answer or simply being a layman. -Ali generalising again that the same method of preservation of the Quran via men is the same as the hadith. (I know that he knows this statement is partly false and I don't know why he is using it) and he is stating the sahih hadith only while Dawan is actually thinking of the weak and fabricated hadith. After this I just can't bare watching it anymore since both party are not clear of each other positions.
