I love how your husband gets in there and helps out with their hair. What a great dad. I remember my husband learning to braid our daughters hair when she had volleyball practice and I was working.😊 I found out a couple years later exactly how much she enjoyed having him be there for her in a way that you typically find moms are. It’s so important for daughters to have their daddy involved in all aspects of their lives, it’ll one day help them to choose a good partner for themselves. Good job dad! 👍🏼

As someone who has a mixture of hair textures let me give you a piece of advice, for the youngest child you should be using a detangling leave-in conditioner with a wide-tooth comb & coming from the bottom up to the root. If you do it the opposite way it will hurt her and pull her hair out. Use a slippery leave-in hair conditioner for kids and never come from The Root Down because it will actually tangle the hair more. Keep your hair moisturized and make sure she has some sort of a silk scarf or pillowcase to sleep with to prevent frizz and tangling then during the week all you have to use is a fine mist spray bottle to moisten it and add a little bit more product and a wide-tooth comb should glide through we only use a soft baby brush after the hair has been deTangled just to lay the edges flat. You can also moisturize it and put it in for simple braids a once it is dry overnight in the morning all you have to do is undo the braids and moisten the hair a little bit and you would be good to go.

I will have to try this for my youngest daughters hair. Im Maltese and Northern Italian decent and her Dad is Puerto Rican and her hair is so beautiful but because its so curly I find it hard not to hurt her when i comb her hair, and the frizz/ tangles she gets after sleeping on it is crazy. i tried so many different products, but i just can't seem to find one that works well. i never thought about using a silk wrap and using a leave in conditioner though but it makes sense so i will definitely be trying it out.

Never start from the scalp when combing/brushing textured hair! It’s very damaging to the scalp and the hair follicle. Try instead starting from ends and working your way up to the scalp. It’ll also be a lot, and I mean a lot easier to detangle. Hope this helps all my tender headed people out there💋❤️😭

I don't think it's that deep like Ava was not being rude, she was trying to be helpful as I'm sure Ava is a mixed kid so she has understanding of that hair texture. Good advice @avanonalisa4263. When your hair is that curly it hurts coming from the root. The babies texture is the most fragile out of the three of them. Combing /brushing it from the ends and moving up will prevent breakage and save Mom from the baby crying when it’s getting combed/brushed out. They are beautiful children!!😊

true plus it helps if you use two hands one to hold the hair gently and the other to pass the brush through, it hurts the scalp when you just take the brush with one hand and try to rip it through

Just a tip on brushing thicker hair, is to start at the bottom and work your way up, slowly and gently. Also if you can grab the hair to hold it at the scalp and then brush starting from the bottom is better.

Should really do this for all hair types. My daughters bair is fine and only slightly wavy, but long and starting from the bottom and working up is the only way to minimise the tangles and cause less pain.
