Seeing and hearing him as a kid, I thought he was just about the cheesiest performer around. Now I've come to appreciate him as one of the greatest entertainers who ever lived. (With age comes wisdom, I guess.) What a talent.

@@Spezialagentin But Dean Martin isn't black. Sammy being a multitalented black entertainer rose to Fame and was accepted during extremely racist hard times for black Americans. If it weren't for his bold actions and interracial alliances as an entertainer and talk show host even, allot of us black folk wouldn't be in life where we are. Black society owes Sammy so much credit and gratitude!

A giant of an entertainer who grew up on my Harlem block long before I was born. However, had I remained there I might have worked with the city to make his building part of a tourism stop. He would have been 95 this year but only lived to age 64. He was the absolute best!
