Freakin' love this song! I always love Sammy's vocals, I enjoy seeing his friendship with Michael Anthony on stage, I love seeing Joe working hard to pay tribute to one of the greatest guitarists ever, and I like seeing Jason as the backbone for them in this moment.

Me and my friends saw them in Toronto a couple of weeks ago. In my humble opinion, Joe Satriani was the only guitar player that could pull this off, as I was a big fan of his back in the 80s into the early 90s! Quite frankly, with the opening band being loverboy, which was amazing, I’m taking my other best friend down to Cincinnati to see them at the end of August! It was the best concert I have ever been to, Baron, and I’ve been to a shit ton of concerts !

Satch is a GENIUS in his own right. If you didn't know before, NOW YOU DO!!!...J/S

Seems like Joe learned those VH songs by ear and I like it that way, since they are not 100 or even 99 percent representing the original but that’s ok and a profound guitarist like him is allowed to make it his own representation. Loving this tour so far.

Wanting some guitar dude that sits in his basement all day playing Mean Streets note for note…in 10 years that dude will still be a no name in his basement playing that lol!!! I was worried about Satch but he’s captured the feel of a VH song while still not losing what makes him a guitar great himself. Solid Band with Sammy that being a VH Lifer I do enjoy listening to this music again & these are the guys who do it well.

The beginning of this song takes me to a different place. Such a beautiful way to play, it creates a new world to see and feel.

Although EVH is definitely irreplaceable, love what Satch is doing. Eddie's probably smiling at that tone, too, fo sho! 🤘💕

I think Satch is a steller godly guitarist. I'm so happy these guys are doing this. I went to atlanta show. Loved it. With that being said, not sure why Satch playing 5159 riff sounds like he misses a few notes? Is it hand placement? Attack? Many on KZfaq dedicate their time to mimicking Eddie and I think Satch had a stopping point at mimicking Eddie. I get it. But what is it about this type of riff that is so signature to Eddie? It's the shape of his hand or the way his fingernail buzzes the string?? Also, jason is kick ass. One of my faves. He seems to avoid Alex's complexity. The tom fills, the double bass. Not sure why. I know he isn't trying to perfectly replicate Alex. But you'd think he'd match the complex parts and then "one up" Alex's parts with his modern improved take on it? He seems to go backwards in style. No offense. I do think he tried to get that snare sound and does a good job. I love his mega chrome kit. I totally loved Jason's album "disregard for timekeeping" in 1989. I memorized and played that album. I loved his drum sound. So pure. Also, it seems on songs like 5150 they end some sections early. Sort of strange. I think of Satriani as en expert and guitar teacher with technical ability in all styles where Eddie was only about being Eddie. I think Satch would beat Eddie in a guitar college course but Eddie wins in innovation of inventing the style there created Satch.

Love these guys! Satch is the only one to do this.

Satriani is an all time virtuoso, fantastic. Edward Van Halen had a rhythmic sense unequaled in the history rock guitar. The notes are there, but the inside feel is not. Still great!
