She’ll be embarrassed later when she calms down. Whatever trauma was bubbling beneath the surface even a look or a specific word or tone can trigger an unconscious emotional reaction. The worst part is the outburst when they do it in public. I know this bc I grew up w a parent just like this. They get reactive, don’t know how to cope under some perceived threat & lash out like a lunatic. I’m just glad she didn’t go into a rage & jump on stage. I feel both embarrassed but mostly just really sad for her bc of my first hand experience. However, it does not make it right. At all. Ever! Sammy handled it like a pro. People like her ALWAYS resort to tears once they get called out for their bs. And the reason they do is because they’re so used to being coddled instead of being told directly that their behavior is unacceptable (though sometimes it’s because they won’t accept that their behavior is unacceptable). They’re so used to starting fights and arguments and “winning” that the moment things don’t go their way they resort to tears. They cry because that’s the moment most people would concede and let them win. And even if they don’t, someone else will. Be it their partner, parents or a close friend, whoever. I usually prefer to avoid confrontations but people like her *need* interactions like this because otherwise they would continue their annoying song and dance. This woman may still continue her behavior but at least now she knows that it’s not cool and she heard it from someone she ostensibly admires and that may get her to think twice next time.

Well, hopefully she learns from this, and gets help if she needs it. Her behaviour isn’t socially acceptable, and the kind but firm response she got here is exactly what she needs to learn that she has a problem. Making excuses for people or giving them a pass doesn’t help them.

This video is so important because he handled the situation perfectly. Literally no notes Like this is what you should always do in situations where someone is pulling this shit to not only run it through what is happening, educating them and helping them see past their emotions but also he showed sympathy or at least understanding that shes not just some random crazy annoying person. Shes someone who said something, then felt bad, and probably felt embarassed she couldnt let it go. He recognized her feelings to her, helping to make her feel shes equal and not just being attacked. People get defensive when it feels your being scolded but ultimately its like how you would talk to a kid, is how you should with people like this. once you realize people have their own emotions and reasons for behaving, as obvious as that is, then you are able to feel empathy and sympathy im so high rn idk if that makes sense but i do know this type of handling in my experience, can change people. This video will do good to encourage understanding
