This is a segment of the Native American Youth Language Fair's (NAYLF) opening ceremony on April 4, 2011 (the first day of the fair in 2011). Here, the fair is shown opening with an honor song, followed by a prayer and another song.
NAYLF is an annual event -- held by the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History -- which is designed to encourage Native youth to learn their tribe's language. Throughout this two day event, participants can observe other students using their languages, and compete in various devisions such as spoken language presentations, song and dance, poster art, and video.
