That’s what I hate about copy solos , they all play the same thing … all solos from Django recordings are 100% impressions, if they recorded same song 10 times , each time Django played different solo / phrases , 10 times same song , 10 times different impressions.. that’s true story from Stephane Grappelli , example Nuages is all improvise ,

That copy (though notice Hugo and Adrien created a crazy harmony at the end of the Django quote) is just a tribute -- like the way people do the "Dark Eyes" Django solo. Then they go off on their own solos. IMO it's just giving respect to the master.
