Try all repairs and troubleshooting at your own risk.
In this video we will show how to replace the Samsung LED strips that we have listed on the screen. Be sure to match the important information on our product page, when replacing LED strips to be sure the replacement strips are compatible with the originals.
When replacing LED strips, you will have to remove the panel.
Removing the panel can be very difficult. If your TV panel is damaged during the replacement process, you will have to get a replacement TV.
We will start by removing both pieces of the back cover off the TV.
Remove the cover over the T-con board.
Use tape to hold the speakers in place.
Disconnect the key controller and secure it to the chassis with some tape.
Flip the TV over and using a five in one tool or a putty knife or something similar disconnect the bezel from the chassis.
Disconnect the buffer boards from the t-con.
Release the buffer boards from the tabs that secure it. be very careful as this board is very fragile.
Using painters tape or something similar, tape the buffer board to the panel.
Removing the panel is very important. But you must be sure the panel does not flex or bend. If the panel cracks or breaks, you will need to replace your entire TV.
We recommend using a suction cup to lift and remove the panel, but you could also use some thin sheets of plastic or something similar to lift it away.
Using a five in one tool, or putty knife or something similar, pry the panel frame from the chassis.
Separate and lift away the layers of diffusion. You can tape them in the corner to keep them together and in order.
There are some clips that hold the reflector sheet to the panel. They can be released on the board side of the chassis and then pulled out from the panel side. Be sure to look underneath the boards if you cannot locate all of the clips.
Remove the reflector sheet from the chassis. The reflector sheet may be sticky on the backside that is attached to the chassis. Be very careful when removing the sheet, so you do not tear it.
There is a little bit of tape holding these original strips to the chassis. Remove the strips of tape and disconnect the LED strips from the cable, before removing them.
Install the replacement LED strips. To help hold the replacement strips in place, we are using some double sided tape.
Align the strips into position and then connect them to the wire.
Align the reflector sheet on the chassis and reinstall the clips.
Install the layers of diffusion.
Reinstall the frame.
Lift the panel back into position and be sure the corners align correctly.
Release the buffer board and lock it back into position.
Reconnect the buffer boards to the t-con.
Reinstall the bezel and be sure it is properly aligned.
Reinstall the keypad controller.
Reinstall the t-con board cover.
Reinstall both of the back covers.
PLEASE NOTE: The models shown may use various different sets of LED Strips. Please match the original strips in your TV to those in the photo before ordering. 29074A or 29075A can usually be found printed on the small barcode stickers on the strips.

This video was absolutely spot-on for replacing the LED Arrays. I cannot stress how much we followed the exact order for disassembly and reassembly, and it now works beautifully. Thank you. For people who have not done this before, I might make two small comments. First, when you go to remove the Bezel, look closely, and you can see a channel in the plastic that is close to the outer edge - if you put your tool in here, you can crack the edge of the bezel. Put your tool into the space between the plastic bezel and the metal frame of the TV. The second is the electronic ribbon connection between the T-Con Board and the Buffer Boards. We disconnected them at the T-Con Board. You flip up the little, black latch over the ribbons, and gently slide them out. Reassembly is the reverse.

Here are a couple of tips from my experience doing this job. Regarding the little white grommets that help hold the led strips in place, try not to lose them and when you go to put them back into their place, there's a good chance you'll need to use something (I used a pocket knife) to slightly pry the wings back open before you install them. Otherwise, they won't lock in place. Same goes for the wings on the clear reflector sheet spacers. As far as double-sided tape on the back of the led strips, I didn't go that route. Instead, I chose to use a good quality, white, general purpose (duct) tape (Note: I think gray tape might be just fine). I cut it into strips similar in width to that long strip of clear, reinforced tape that Samsung used from top to bottom at the factory. I also used an individual strip over each led strip in the same spot where Samsung put that long tape strip at the factory. It just seemed easier that way.

A great great tutorial. Definitely get those suction cups don't even think about lifting the screen. Another piece of advice - order some replacements for those clips that hold down the reflector sheet. Don't want have to break down the Tv again. I had to just space out the half that did not crack during removal around the reflector sheet when I reinstalled it.

I would suggest disconnecting the power to the strip board before touching the strips. I got a little shock when I touched them. Also, make sure your reflector sheet is touching the back of the tv or you will get shadows on the screen as it pushes towards the front of the tv.

So, do the T-con ribbon cables need to be disconnected from the buffer board? In this video, after the T-con board cover is removed, it's hard to tell for sure, but it looks like those two ribbon cables suddenly appear loose. Did you just forget to video disconnecting them or did they stay connected? I have just flipped the tv over and removed the bezel and began to wonder about this.

When I unplug the connector and test the voltage on the first and second connector on the board, it buries the needle. the board says the pin volt specs are 326V and 410mA on CH1 would using this method resolve my issue? slight constant clicking, screen won’t turn on, no status light on front

You measure the voltages on the pins on the power board that supplies voltage to the strips. Look where the led strips connect to the power board. Make note of which wires on the LED side (mine was 1, 4, 5 and 8), disconnect the plug and carefully measure the voltage of those pins to ground. My voltage was 420v. My set has 6 strips in series with 14 LED on each giving a total of 84 LEDs. In series then that is 421/84 or 5.0 volts each which is about right. I changed all strips last night and TV is working well.

So my 60 inch has no standby light on . It will not turn on. I replaced the bridge diode block in the power supply even though off the board it tested good. With the power supply not hooked up I got the 12-13v out at the pin connections on the board but once I installed the power supply board and hooked up everything the voltages at the pins were like 1 volt or so. Also I could hear a slight ticking sound in the area where the connection on top is towards the led. Would that be sufficient info to suspect that the led strips are bad? Again . using the remote , it is hard to say whether the tv is on or not.

as a TV repair tech You cannot compare a low resolution tube TV from 30 years ago that has very little to do to make an image, to today's modern 4K HDTVs with smart technology are basically computers with the monitor. they're also much less money than what you paid for 30 years ago comparatively. Basically treat a brand new TV is a light bulb by big and cheap would a 5-year Costco warranty and after that throw it away.

I put new led strips in but they won't light up. If I touch the.metal of the tv and the negative spot on the led they will come on. My old ones come on but only 5 bulbs. How do I fix this?

Yes I did. The led lights were bad, but so was one of the wires running the lights. That's why they wouldn't light up

why dont you show the screen after replacing the led strips
@Veikra
@Veikra 3 жыл бұрын
Considering how often LED fails, these strips should be installed from the other side. That way we wouldnt have to mess with the fragile panel.

How can you distinguish between a LED backlight problem and a backlight inverter board problem?
@jordan4220
@jordan4220 2 жыл бұрын
You can use the diode function of a multimeter and use the test points on either side of the LED to see if it lights up. If it does, you have a good LED and its likely the power supply, if it doesn't the LED is dead.

Samsung TVs suck, guaranteed to last for only 2 years. if you use it frequently 1 year+. Best advice, don't buy Samsung TVs. Their air conditioners are pretty much the same, will not last.

I can not believe how fragile the LEDs are why they don't glue or make it so they don't come off easily is beyond me.
