You need to long hold and then you get into the settings option ,and may be they might have improved their security, because that's why you find that a method that worked earlier can no longer work on newer ones.

Then the other way to do it I think we have to perform a factory reset. So now press power and volume up keys and then select erase all user data (but you will lose your everything on the phone storage) , since it is common on these nokia devices that the can also free when its off , so that's the remedy I got for you.
