I did this in my AKG. Honestly I don't like the sound without mesh... Treble and mids are too harsh, so I decided to put them back. With mesh sound is more balanced. Thanks for the tip, but it's not for my taste.

@SicErik TV has both of the black mesh come off after a few years of using and does it still sound good with out the black mesh?

I just watched your video and tried this and then cleaned the AKG Earbuds and made sure there where no residue and both mesh pieces came out clean and cleaned the earbuds as just mentioned. The earbuds sound much louder and fuller now to me as they did didn't before with the mesh grills on! All the best.

I have s10 plus akg earphones bought it a month ago and for few days i noticed that the left ear volume is lower than right a bit and i dont know why?

Dude! The things we miss! Thanks so much. I always take the grills off of my speakers and I never thought to remove the grills off of my earbuds before. That's brilliant! I know they're there to help with water proofing but I don't think that is really a problem since the silicon tip covers the end anyway.

I love those phones! My only complaint is that I have to really stick it in my ear to hear the low frequencies. After half a song or so, it starts coming out a bit and then the lows/bass is gone! I even discovered that pulling my ear back or foward, the bass sound is enhanced, but that's a bother. I tried to find another earbud or rubber thing to block or stick the phone better inside my ear, but could not find anything. I think the bass comes from that little hole, right? Not where the mash is. Or am I wrong? Is it just a 'respirtation' hole? Cheers from Rio!

I know this is might not get seen but is there a way to open them up? I kinda hit the right side against my wood bed frame and it spilt I put it back together by just pressing it again hard (not against a wall) and now no sound will come out. Can you help? I currently have some Mi Piston Basic, manufactured hand in hand between Xiaomi and 1More Design and they sound wonderful, yes with the mesh on, because I have never dared to take it off. Right now I made an order for these AKG Samsung headphones to test them on my Poco X3 Pro, which has an audio jack, I just hope they sound very good, because they have the same range as my current Mi Piston Basic by 1More Design. A question, these headphones will be compatible with the brand of phones or only with Samsung phones (remember that I told U earlier that I have a Poco X3 Pro, greetings and I hope a prompt response!

I accidentally left my earphones in my pocket and these got washed and the second mesh of the right one disappeared as the first on had already come off. What should I do now?

Thanks for the tip you literally saved me from actually cutting open my headphones, I had bought a second pair of them to use for chatting and no one could actually hear me always complaining they could hear the audio that I was playing through the microphone while the original pair wouldn’t do that as well as you can hear me much more loud and clear. Upon further investigation I found out that by popping the plastics from the volume adjustment apart that they both had completely different circuit boards and microphones the one I repaired (original pair I owned) had a blue circuit board with a square silver microphone . The pair i purchased had a green circuit board with a circular gold microphone that people could barely hear me, and when plugged into my controller for gaming would play the gameplay audio through the microphone, not sure how this is affected considering they are legitimately both the same Samsung product registered and trade marked, very strange though.

For people who have the problem that one side suddenly gets louder than the other. Remove dirt from your headphone. Usually I am unlucky in such things and they don't get fixed but it worked on my headphones. Edit: Watched the video till the end and he does exactly the same thing I did 😅

I love these headphones.. much better than iPhone headphones IMO .. I've been using the same pair of headphones that came with the S9 and the right phone lost quite a bit of sound volume compared to the left.. I did this on the right headphone only.. and it worked great ! The right headphone is much louder now .. might even be a bit louder than the left.. crazy !!

I took out the cloth mesh and my headphones sound great but is it ok to have it without that cloth mesh

The mesh helps the sound to balance properly soooo like it's actually better to keep it on. Removing the mesh would just make the audio louder but unbalanced but thanks for the tip :)
