Was given this phone since 2017 and Its still working pretty well... for sure its a masterpiece

I once had A5 2017 and I have to say it's the best phone I've had yet!

I've had this phone since 2017 and i've been putting it through the ringer... occasional pool, shower, rain, bath and wash use. aswell as dust and rainforest environment, lots of dropping and shock, all this with a simple phone case and screen protector. It finally gave in last week when I took it to the beach and dropped it in the water, the phone itself works but the screen no longer turns on swell as the touch. hardware still works though. 8/10 if only it was faster Update:3 months ago I Took it to the beach and dropped it in the water. Display won't work anymore. But the software inside and the hardware buttons works !

Just to clarify: There is no "backlight" to pulsate, as I assume the reviewer knows but perhaps misspoke. AMOLED lights each pixel individually without the need for backlighting.

budget phones are getting better and better by the second 😊

I have both the S7 and the A5 and I prefer the A5. The camera on the S7 is better but if you're looking for something a bit cheaper that does pretty much the same things then id go for the A5. The A5 is heavier than the S7 which I feel is good as it doesn't slip out of your hand as easily and the battery life is much better on the A5 than the S7.

C'mon guys, this is better than the google pixel apart from the camera. I mean, just get a real camera if you are so bothered about picture quality

Mine just broke after 6 years of owning it. Was one of the best phones I've ever used. The modern day Nokia imo lol I dropped mine like 10 times a day and from height often as well.

Only me watching this right now on my a5 that still works great after dropping down in the asphalt from a balcony😂. Real piece of quality made of glass and not plastic. Works super after 4 years of use.

I bought it way back in the last quarter of 2017 and sold it a couple of days ago and bought A52S 5G 2021, I still miss that build quality, it felt more premium than the letter one.

My dad is senior!!! and bought the phone brand new $150 (CAN) in 2021, the phone is mighty impressive, not going to lie. I have Samsung Galaxy 20 Ultra 5G, and I feel A5 is over kill for my dad. He only uses the phone for emergency and still prefers to use standard home line .... lol

Bought mine in january 2018. Cost me a little more than 200 bucks. Still using it. Even works with my Seek Thermal CompactPRO heat camera.

I love the older A5 design, but I didn't hate the new one. Because in my opinion the new A5 feels more modern even they made it plasticy ✌

I still have this phone. Bought it in 2018. Its 2022 still works. I did end uo cracking the screen but nothing major!

I'm not a samsung fan before but I like this phone! Bought one yesterday for my boyfriend and he liked it a lot. I'm not a technical person but I'd say samsung A5 is worth the price. Great specifications; 16mp front & back camera, the resolution & color depth, the size & design, the speed; they all goes well together. Don't hesitate to purchase. 👌🏼

It's too strange to be real I am watching this video from my a5 2017, right before my a53 came from pre order in Bulgaria. The strangest part is, that the cam video on 3:00 is located in my country, and my town also, a couple hundred meters away from the Technical University of Sofia, where i study. I would be so happy if the guy who uploaded the video, answer and tell me if I'm correct

The cameras were my main concern as well, especially compared to the S7 model much superior cameras. however since local stores decided the S7 should cost twice as much as A5, guess thats the best option around.

Why are people care so much about OIS? Is it that important? Just asking, not hating.

it's great but the front camera's quality is too good and it makes me look too ugly so i have a mental breakdown everytime i accidentaly open the front camera.

for those complaining this is a mid-range smartphone, it won't have loads of features like the s series if Sammy put those features in more people will buy the a series since it has the same features as the s series which is good for Samsung

Backlight? there is no backlight! the pixels themselves emit light. Also, there is no 3D touch, just a long touch functionality.

why Samsung always left some needful features (OIS, 4K Recording, Front Camera Flash) in average rate mobile phones :/ :(
