Күн бұрынSo it’s been 71 days since I got my hands on Samsung’s Galaxy A71, and in my initial reviews I had recommended viewers to stick with the Galaxy A51, a very similar device which offers a bit less screen size and performance at a lower price point. But after some long term usage I want to talk to you about some new experiences I’ve had, and share some insight on whether or not the A71 is the phone to go with considering all of the new releases Samsung is bringing to the smartphone Market here in 2020. Say that until it drops and has a curve in on the sides cuz its fucking plastic Havinh a plastic build literally makes the front glass 20x easier to break on drops

@@mdluk199 I previously had a samsung that had a great screen to bezel ratio. i switched because i simply enjoy apple's integrated software more. it's more smooth and the experience is just better.

Finally a reviewer who actually takes plenty of time using a phone and then do review of it whereas some 'tech reviewers' only care about views and clickbaits.

Well unfortunately thats just how tech on KZfaq works for the most part. The main priority for reviewers is views over anything else and that comes at the expense of time spent with the product, or click bait approach. But I grew tired like yourself of not seeing any quality reviews on expensive products I'm considering to purchase and here we are!

It's a different user base market. If you plan to buy the phone on release and switch to a new phone every year, you watch those KZfaq channels. That's why I like these long term reviews more, since some of us are conscious buyers that stick with a phone for a couple of years before we upgrade.

What ur battery setting on device care is it medium or optimised mine draining fast since April update and am forced to stay on medium power saving . U noticed something similar?

I'm glad it's got a plastic back, it blows my mind that people want glass backs, that are so fragile but they want it for the premium look and feel then hide it behind a case. It's madness and so backwards it makes me want to lash people across the chops

Wireless charging. Really irritating when phones without wireless charging have glass back. I'd be curious to know if there are other, less fragile, materials that could work with wireless charging.

I agree, it is certainly confusing. But at the same time - it gives you way more choices to choose from. From size, to storage, camera and etc. diffrences i think its better at it than Apple

The A71 does have some water resistance, dropped mines in the bath and all that happened was the speaker got clogged but you just stick it in rice and its fine. The no IP rating does not mean it isnt resistant.

@@DarkwearGT An official IP rating costs a lot of money. That's why it's often missing from mid and low range phones. But almost all samsung phones still have basic water intrusion protection. Even last years OnePlus Pro 7 phones didn't have IP certification to lower their price, but it did have full seals inside. It's not just low end phone that skip it.

I really love how this midrange market is evolving. I do not see myself buying a flagship when I have to upgrade. Waiting for the pixel 4a to be released but this a71 is a top contender for me.

People are literally making "mortgage" type payments for a bloody phone. I am reading about the Samsung Note 20 Ultra Snapdragon's battery - albeit better than the Exynos (Samsung CPU) but still people are not pleased. Even Mr. Mobile found for the first time a Note that didn't last him the whole day. For a while now there has either been a flagship or pathetic 32GB old junk. I concur the midrange market is definitely compelling. It also allows you to flip phones sooner due to the lower cost and still having a good choice of phones. I still think a bigger battery, even with fast charging, does come in handy. I hate Samsung's forced bloatware (my last was the SIII) but this is an interesting option.

Totally agree with you. I was considering between A51 and A71, glad I chose A71 and never regret any of my choices ever since. Thanks for sharing the review and I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a mid range phone but packed with great functions !!

@M J it's all about the chipset which made me hesitate to get the A51 instead of the A71. I liked the smaller display but the exynos chip is very bad compared to snapdragon. If u want to use something long term then a good chipset is a must and exynos ain't it.

glass doesn't get scratched, allows wireless charging and it feels and looks better, plastic gets damaged very easily, its inevitable

I bought an A71 about a month ago instead of buying S10+ to be honest apart from no wireless charging it does pretty much what the S10+ does glad I bought the A71 and saved money too

I have bought my 71 two years ago and doesn't disappoint! The wife suggested I upgrade but what for when the phone does everything well . I tweaked it and it's great. Put it into a solid Poetic case which made it damage proof!!

Gotta say-i've been searching for a new phone and lately i've been checking the a71 and the s10/s10 lite and honestly? Now i really want to buy the a71! recently had to recommend a friend a new phone, and boiled down to A51 and A71, the 25W charging was the deal maker. its the SINGLE MOST feature I found handy in newer phones. saved me A LOT of trouble! the rest of the A71 benefits were icing on the cake ^_^

Ive been using my A70 (the predecessor to this phone) for a year now and it still holds up perfectly fine. What I love about Samsungs A-line of phones, is how they still have dual sim, sd card slot and a headphone jack (on top of their specs).

Same. I'm still on my A70 and I am still loving it. I'll upgrade next year probably. Right now my eyes are on the Galaxy Buds+ (I just ordered) and the Galaxy Watch Active 2. 👌🏻

A series phones are great because they have amoled displays many of them and high resolution, I have an old A8 and it’s got better resolution than my iPhone 11 but the problem with these phones is after 2 years they’re crap, battery’s drain as quick as they charge! And they overheat.

I have one, it's an awesome phone that could easily be confused with a flagship phone. I love the long battery life and the camera is actually superior to the Galaxy S10 flagship phone. Love the big size too.

I've been using the Galaxy A71 for a few days day and honestly? Well good news as I've been going over the main most important things that to me are important in a phone which are: 1 x Battery life will get you through the day with middle to heavy use with an easy 20-50% battery left from 8.00am - 11.00pm 2 x both the ear piece and loud speakers are very good (great call quality) 3 x the signal strength is very good as is the WiFi along with fast down and upload speeds 4 x the screen is of excellent quality being clear and very very bright 5 x the cameras are also very good taking really good photos and very clear stable video recording 6 x the phone is also surprisingly light in the hand so it's not heavy at all 7 x both the finger print reader and face unlock are fairly quick (not OnePlus speeds but around 1 second) 8 x the processor in this phone along with 6gb ram is super quick (the fastest mid range phone I've ever used) 9 x value for money I'm happy to recommend this phone to anyone because at a 3rd of the cost of most flag ship phones it's a no brainer 100%

I got one! $386.00 out the door. Or delivered 😄 8gb ram, snap dragon, gorilla glass, nfc (samsung pay, google pay, etc.) included. A little smaller compared to note 20 ultra but costs $1,030.00 less. A buddy of mine called it a poor man's Note 20 ultra. One thing is sure, I'm a $1K richer for buying this phone instead. 😄

White Fox i mean Samsung phones always suffer with battery issues, i have used S5, i know I’m talking about 4-5 years back and that too in tech world. Samsung phones just have impressive numbers and nothing else, S20 ultra newly unleashed has roughly 5k mah and still it is far behind iphone’s battery life! Edit- person might buy a cheap samsung phone like M31 , use it for 2 years and then buy new one just like today’s trend where people barely use a phone for 2 years. Edit2- in todays world people are spending so much on mobile phones, emi and credit card options bolster buying new devices making it easy for people to pay. 90% of the device remains unused even if you buy xiaomi redmi note 8. Edit3- watching reviews on youtube might be a good way to pass time on the internet but it also unnecessarily makes the person realise that what he/she is using is an inferior product and need to switch to a new one. I deleted youtube for a while and i had no wants to buy new phone. When i installed youtube i again had this idea that i need to get my iphone 7 replaced. But now i have controlled my mind.

I'm upgrading my Galaxy S4 to a A71. I'm so excited. I've done tons a research and I'm finally ready to move on. My s4 has been on a 9 year ride with me and it's time to put it to rest. It was the best phone ever.

ive been using the A8 2018 for more than 2 yrs now and it's a really good phone. and yes, it has ip68 rating and glass back 😂 idk why Samsung changed it

@@MelJalbuena yeah even my sister has been using the A8 2018. It was a great phone with a glass back until she dropped it and the glass cracked so badly☹. Any way that phone with its price in 2018 has got way better build quality when compared to the mid range phones of 2020. My mom's A51 has got a plastic back which which is great in one sense that it doesn't crack😅

Glass sucks. You can drop it once and it breaks, while plastic, in my experience can hold 100s of drops (I'm very clumsy)

I agree to disagree, I had the Samsung S9+ for 2 years & dropped it absolutely 4 times & it never cracked, maybe just some minor scratches, but it's very durable, but I had to switch to the A50 due to anxiety of it actually breaking lol, but I do treat my phones like fragile babies & barely ever drop them either so idk 🤣

the rating might be a simple reassurance for you but it will increase the price a lot more, they have the waterproofing seals but just getting an OFFICIAL rating is very expensive.

Plastic > Glass everytime. Plastic wont break when you drop it. Plastic is cheaper to replace if scratched. Plastic is lighter. There is NO benefits to glass on the back of a phone.

Recently while in the showroom of one of the big 3 carriers I caught myself drouling over the S20 Ultra... Over the course of the next few days after completing my research to decide which new Samsung phone I was going to purchase this year I've decided that the A71 was just so much more of a value to me over the S20 Ultra and that just part of the money I'd be saving allowed me to purchase my new S6 Lite tablet with the S-PEN!! I have to admit a few years ago I did enjoy sporting the new S10 plus around town... and it probably was one of the most expensive mobile phones in the country, the value definitely wasn't evident.

I have the A71 for 2 months now. Coming from an S8 believe it or not this was an upgrade in processor, ram, display size and battery life. It has all what I needed with a bit more. My main downsides are that I missed the best Amoled quality screen of samsung and a downgraded camera quality. Nevertheles with the built in camera app and gcam I could take some pleasing photos , yet once zoomed in a bit the quality shows to be lower than a flagship like an S8 which still takes very good quality photos and especially with gcam.

I currently have the Samsung s8 and I have had it for two years now. I was considering getting the iPhone SE 2020 because I do have quite small hands and I can just about manage with the s8. I was going to maybe consider the A71 until I saw how big in comparison it is to the s8. I mean if I do end up getting a more midrange phone I know I will be able to tell the differences but I do believe that Samsung has upped their game when it comes to midrange phones recently. This video was really helpful :)

After looking around, I decided on the A71. I'm happy with it but it's a much bigger phone than I would like. I was going to pull the trigger on the A51, but the extra real estate is nice and the 4500 battery is terrific.
