I like this commercial. It gets to the heart of the Apple problem: people who value branding above quality. I am typing this on a macbook and I have an iPone 3GS, but I have these things because I enjoy them and made a decision based on price, availability, and performance. People who choose Apple as the default in every situation are just as stupid as the people who choose PC in every situation.

It does actually. BMW, Mercedes and Chrysler constantly churn out new car models all the time, with very little other than aesthetic difference. Aston Martin, Lamborghini and Ferrari put much more time into their designing and manufacturing and come out with cars that push the boundaries of their class, and set new limits on what is possible in automotive engineering. It is just the same with Samsung and the iPhone.

This commercial is full of win. People, especially Apple customers, end up putting up the brand name over how the product is. I have a Mac at the moment but simply because I got it for free and it came with lots of programs that I use to edit movies with. Did I want it because it was an Apple product? No. They usually have terrible battery lives and my Mac does run out quickly; but it came with what I needed and that was that.

I've got an iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and Apple TV. Current handset now: Galaxy SIII. It's awesome! I don't think I can go back to iOS... just yet. Android is so... flexible.

Samsung, maybe one day you'll release a phone that will have people lining up to buy it.

They've already created their own mobile OS. It's called Bada, and it's the OS used in the Samsung Wave line of smartphones. It's a decent OS but no one cares about it because of the lack of apps. I guess no OS can compete with the huge library of apps that Android and iOS have.

@DylGio OK sorry if you didn't get it. Samsung S2 launched BEFORE 4s so they were re-enacting what happened during the 4S release. S2 was out months ahead.

Whether you're waiting in a line to be the first to get your hands on a phone, or on the other side of the fence trying to convince them that the one you've got is "the next best thing" - either way, you really need to re-evaluate your life.

@calebh220 You are absolutely wrong, android OS was created in 2007 in beta and officially launched in 2008. The company was created in 2003 but didn't create andorid OS till 2007. As well apple's iOS mobile version was created in 2007 with the release of the first iPhone, but apple's OS has been out since the Macintosh computer deputed in 1978 but eventually evolved with OS X and Lion being the latest.

Actually Samsung has been doing the most suing out of anyone lately!

Great ad, there are too many gold one-liners to choose a favourite! I just got a Galaxy S2 and it is awesome. Ok, so it doesn't have siri which mean that I am less likely to be seen attempting to eat my phone like an ice cream sandwhich, but dang this phone is amazing. The screen is awesome, the interface is smooth as silk and the speed is unbelievable. I am not regretting ditching the iPhone. I'm just glad that someone made an ad that makes me feel good about my puchasing decision!

What I think is that Apple is for a certain type of people, and Microsoft is for another. I simply wished to pose an argument against the first comment of this thread. I just feel that Apple gets way more credit then it deserves, not that it does not deserve any. Furthermore, I am certain there are many Microsoft enthusiasts who are "the exact same". Personally I *try* to give credit where it's due. Macs graphical display is now staple in all home computers. Good on them. But i know what I like.

To all those people who think that the whole "Mac vs. PC" ad campaign only insulted the OS are outta their minds. If you think about it these ads did insult the OS which IMO insulted the users. It made some windows users feel inadequate about what they were using, which in turn is INSULTING to the user.

In 2011, Samsung was just another cheap flip-phone manufacturer than most budget carriers have as a Sony Ericsson, Nokia or Motorola alternative. You'd laugh back then if anybody mentioned "Samsung" with Apple together. Now? The Galaxy S-line EASILY beats the IPhone in sales. In America it might as well be Coke & Pepsi or Mustang & Camaro all over again.

Great products are a result of great hardware built around great software. Because the Galaxy S2 runs on Android, an open source platform the software will be scattered. There's no end to end interoperability between apps- this is why having an iOS device is much more convenient. Great artists steal.

What's so funny is that Apple fans right now are already lining up to buy the new iPhone and we could have a commercial of someone whipping out a Galaxy S III just to annoy everyone in line. ;-)

I'm not one to get mad about commercials, but this one just pissed me off! some food for thought 1. I use wifi 98% of the time so if there was the choice of not even getting a data plan I wouldn't get it, so 3g vs. 4g doesn't mean anything to me. 2. I waited for 10 minutes to get my 4s. 3. My battery never had an issue, and for those who did an update was released. 4. I don't need my phone to look different to let ME know its an upgrade. My phone is for me, not for other people!

So true, Apple fans have a mind of a robot. Once they get it, they have to "obey their master". Yes, they do think they are more "creative" and we are all missing the point. What "creative" person stands in a line for 18 hrs for a dang product you can get a few days later.

@angrut WRONG, the Android operating system was being developed since 2003 by Andy Rubin and Android Inc., bought by Google in 2005. Obviously Google didn't buy it for just because they wanted to. Apple launched their product earlier than Android, but Winmo smart phones were already in production years before. Basically apple made mobile OS better for simple minded folks.

Honestly, in my opinion, Apple should not have sued Samsung. Samsung is the reason YOU ARE STILL ABLE TO CREATE PHONES. Without the chip, your phones are basically useless. I mean yeah, they did copy you in some aspects. But a Samsung Gs2 and 3 allows you to personalize your phone and set it the way you like it. Apple is just straight forward.

Apple is more busy suing and getting sued then innovating. They spend more time in court then actually developing a product. They are on the verge of losing large amounts of costumers because people are finally starting to see through their bullshit. Their ads are downright insulting. Their Macs have always been overpriced. It's basically a PC with a shiny case. I give Apple props for being the greatest advertisement company in the world though.

He should have said, "This phone, is kind of a big deal." On that alone I would have bought one.
