I prefer the Pixel 4, it has more natural colors, Better selfie and more natural night mode. Samsung needs to stop with this over-sharpening that ruins the pictures for them.

I was waiting on a video of the S20 vs. Pixel 4 camera comparison! The Pixel 4 still takes some absolutely stunning and beautiful photos (and videos!) 🤩🤩🤩 I've decided I'm going to skip picking up a Galaxy device this entire year and instead hold on to my Pixel 4 XL and also check out other devices from other manufacturers. 😊

Thanks for the review. The S20 video had some kind of strange light variations going on, sort of like light flashes. I noticed in the daytime, and the nighttime videos as well. You would think that the "64mb" sensor on the S20's zoom camera would be demonstrably more detailed than it is. Obviously, they are straining that sensor's actual ability. You can tell they are boosting the image brightness in the nighttime photos and video because the lights always have bigger flares.

It does, though overall they are almost the same in terms of noise and fuzziness. The Pixel got too yellow in the lights however

In my opinion Pixel 4 is the best phone all around pictures and video. Ive had Samsung s7,s8,s9,s10,note4,note8,note9. They all have that weird smoothing thing i hate except note4. My only complaint on Pixel 4 is they should have left laser autofocus.

Edit: Although, you say that the s20 has better dynamic range which is just flat out wrong. Just because there's more detail in the shadows doesn't mean there's good dynamic range. The highs are very often blown out on the s20 compared to the pixel.

Daytime, Pixel 4. I'm seeing more details on bricks, leaves and faces. Night time, both are great. I'm leaning slightly towards Pixel 4 again, I personally doesn't like the extra weird sharpening effects on S20.

Great video Alex. As for the comparison, while i have sold again my Pixel because i was not satisfied with the camera, in this comparison i liked nearly every picture of the Pixel more. Saturated colours are ok, but everything grey and white is now blue with the S20. That looks very strange. Portrait mode...again Pixel 🤗👍

In another comparison with iPhone 11 Pro and Galaxy s20, the Pixel produced very blue images a lot especially in the incandescent light. It did well in other areas of course but lost a few points in those shots.

People who bought the S20 are not happy because, they again, end up with a 3rd grade camera. This again shows that high megapixels really is not all. Pixel with its low megapixels totally obliterate samsung once again. Google magical camera software is just too good.

I actually think S20 has better audio because it cancels out the wind noise when you are running. The Pixel 4's microphone is unfiltered, but the S20's mic has background noise filter.

The Pixel did a great job, I mean if you're looking for a realistic look in your photos then thats your option, also the S20 did a great job but in my personal tease, it was too much over contrasted and saturate, but the sharpen was good

Good comparison but you need to turn off Samsung's face beautifying feature and then compare. I have the S20 myself and I must say it is great. Outdoor photos are full of color. Zoom is good when needed if you can keep steady. I just installed Google's camera on my S20 and I definitely prefer Samsung's still. It has more features/options.

The galaxy phones are brighter, but thats not much of a advantage as most people tweak their photos a bit b4 posting anywhere. I do notice the over sharpening that is consistent on all 3 s20 models which creates halo effect. Really hoping Sam improves this, picking up my ultra tmr and it would suck to see this

Pixel 4 can still take good pictures? Pixel beat most of the comparisons and even the ones in which you preferred the s20. The portraits on pixel killed the s20 ones by miles and miles.

especially if you look at the hair from the portrait shots. Samsung just cuts hair off and smoothens everything. Pixel can even filter out single hairs. Clear winner!

You did fall for samsungs marketing. Its tele lens is 2x. Using the zoom icon it defaults to 3x that suggest it is 3x lens but in reality it is just a crop from 2x lens.

I've got the pixel 4xl so I'm partial to the natural colours. Just love the blue sky on a pixel or iPhone photo. Samsung have weird skys. However in saying that the HDR was consistently better on the Samsung day and night. Crazy how hdr was Google's biggest advantage over everyone since the pixel 1 and now they are probably 3rd in that category behind the iPhone and Samsung.

To me it's pretty irrelevant which phone "wins" considering how amazing they both are. The only area I'd say the the Pixel is a clear night and day winner is in astrophotography. Makes me wonder why you didn't show anything like that. I've taken some pretty fantastic pictures with mine in almost complete darkness.

It's not 3x optical zoom. Firstly, it's a fixed focal length lens, so by definition not a "zoom". Secondly, it's not optical.

I understand your comment here is about this video, but I felt like playing devil's advocate here. Samsung never advertises (or at least I cannot find any instance of) it as an "Optical Zoom", instead referring to it as (while misleading not out and out lying) "Hybrid Optical Zoom". Honestly I am not 100% sure on what this means, but I suspect it has to do with using a very large sensor and cropping. This would make it a digital zoom, but on a larger sensor, so emulating an optical zoom. I am unsure if there is an optical component to it, but my suspicion is that if there was that it would be fairly insignificant (like 1.2x or similar) For the record, I 100% agree with you. This is NOT an optical zoom, and any digital/hybrid zoom, no matter how clever, will never be as good as an optical zoom. But hey, it is a tiny camera in a phone with a huge number of other features, and it is pretty amazing how good the pictures are when you consider all of that.

Yo guys I can't decide which phone should I get, I have a phone now that is 4 years old and I want to upgrade , s20 Ultra or 11 Pro Max, I will use my phone for taking pictures, sometimes playing, watching movies/videos and I have never used IOS and idk, s20 Ultra has android which will get only 2 years of update but 11 Pro Max has IOS and has more then 2 years of support. If you can advise me which one to get.

No matter how nice the camera on the Pixel 4 (still) is, the phone is dead as a dodo because of the the battery issues.

Maybe the regular Pixel 4, but I've had my 4 XL for a couple months now and have had no issues at all. Gets me through a full day no problem.
