The plastic back is an upgrade! Plastic is lighter, more flexible and durable than glass. It's easier and less costly to replace too.

Correction: s20 series don't come with an "adaptive" high refresh rate screen, they came with fixed 120hz screen instead

Yes and that's problematic. The adaptive 120 Hz screen saves battery energy by slowing down the refresh rate to 48 Hz when you don't need the faster rate.

@@tanzanable the 1080p physical screen resolution also saves the battery which makes the s21 has a similar battery life as s20+ (500mah more battery)

The UFS 3.1 is crazy fast when it comes to copying music over USB i actually thought something went wrong when copying 30gb it was done within minutes

8 - 10hrs screen on time? how's that? mine is only 5hrs max and that's average use only. fb, messenger, camera, KZfaq and little bit of games. I've already optimize battery usage for apps and deep sleep most of the apps. Can you please share the things you've done to optimize the battery that much? Thanks. Great vid by the way!

Really? What model/region are you in? I've got the Exynos SM-G998B Australian variant & it never heats up even running benchmarks. I'm interested in finding out what the difference is

Yes, it has adaptive 120h refresh rate which is meant to be easier on battery life. You can also set it at 60h if you prefer

The S21 USB port doubles as a headphone jack. Wired headsets can use this port. SD card storage slots are now outdated. Cloud storage has replaced them. You can also store data by offloading it to hard drives. At 6.2 inches, the S21 screen is considered small by modern standards. By modernizing their phones, Samsung has freed up internal space for more important things like ultrasonic fingerprint readers and bigger batteries. That's a pro and not a con.

Just sold my s21 plus made a small profit. Order a regular s21 now. The plus sizes are just getting too big and impractical for day to day life. Thanks for review.

The regular S21 is perfectly sized IMO i got the S21 Ultra for the camera & i'm kinda regretting it now the curved screen sucks for applying screen protectors plus its quite heavy in the pocket

@@EL_bball I'm thinking about doing exactly the same. I do love the bigger screen on the s21+ for watching shows and videos, but as you said it just gets to big and uncomfortable for day to day tasks. Are you still happy you did the change? And how about battery life, is it any good?

@@Rydder yes very happy with the change. The battery life is noticeable less at the start but it has got a lot better, especially in battery saving mode. I much prefer the regular size for day to day use. I can use it one handed when rushing around and doesn't fall out my pockets etc. If you want something bigger get an ipad or tablet lol.

@@KevinRiazi My S21 came with a removable plastic cover but no screen protector. I put a glass screen protector on it but now the fingerprint sensor won't work with the glass in the way.

Thumbs up on this review for pointing out that cheap feeling/looking plastic back. Absolutely unacceptable for Samsung's only "compact flagship."

great review but the 1080P on the S21 is terrible. you have to say it, it really SUCKS. coming from the S7, i can honeslty say that the 2016 flagship had a beter screen that the S21... which is insane. i think reviewers should talk more about this feature being removed beacuase IMO its the biggest cutback that makes this phone not at all worth it. hell, the phone would have been beter with 4GB of ram, no 5G (who really needs 5G anyways), and an older processor if it meant getting a 60 hz QHD pannel.

I'm sorry but that is not a screen protector it does not come with a screen protector it's just a piece of plastic that covers the phone to protect it when shipping

It is a screen protector. Not glass but nevertheless, it is a protector and it is pre-installed :)

There is a screen protector installed under the plastic you initially pull off. I'm 99% sure of this having recently held one in my hand and saw what looked like 2 layers of plastic film over the screen.

Samsung lost me with all that copy-paste from Iphone bullshit with the charger and the headphones jack. I was angry at them in the beginning with my s9+ and their dumb 3 years update policy and that stupid Exinos chip for Europe. Now I moved to IPhone and after two months I feel sorry I didn't do it much earlier. And just from my experience, nothing beats Iphone 12 camera. Dunno how you take your pictures but the only phone who gets close to IPhone 12 at this time is PIxel 5 only.
