I compared the S23 Ultra and the S23 Plus and went with the Plus. I would never use the S pen and I don't like the square corners on the Ultra. I don't regret it at all. I do like the larger size of the Plus over the base model.

Personally, I have changed from S23 Ultra to S23+. In the end, i prefer it more than the ultra. 1. Smaller sized, lighter weight in hand 2. Rounded corners makes it easier for one handed usage. The sharp corners of the S23 Ultra is digging into my hand when texting. 3. I do realize that it has a better battery life than S23 Ultra too on the same fhd, adaptive refresh rate settings, and same app and notification settings too Yes indeed i lose out in Spen support, better camera systems, but those are my least priority as of now. A lot of people are mentioning it is a awkward middle child as the pricing in Singapore for a 512gb S23+, i can get a 8gb ram 256gb S23 Ultra.. IDGAF man, i am loving the S23+ wayyy more

I was on the fence when purchasing the S23+ or S23 Ultra but ended up going with the S23+. Pretty much talked myself out of buying the latter. 1. I don’t need the s-pen. 2. Sure the cameras are better on the ultra but if I really want a great camera I would just buy one. 3. The 1440p was extremely appealing but I was more interred in refresh rate and brightness. Traded in my A51 and so far I really like the S23+. Battery is much better, brightness especially in direct daylight is great, and the 120 hrz is butterly smooth. Still 1080p but still a great panel.

Just got this phone ,upgrading from the S21 Exynos. The battery life is fantastic and loving the bigger screen. The biggest suprise was how much I liked the 19.59 aspect ratio coming from the 20:9 form of the S21. No wonder Sony struggle to sell with their 21:9 screen.

The thing is, when it comes to battery life, a native 1080p display will always outperform a native 1440p display which is set at 1080p. Because lowering the resolution doesn't really turn off the pixels, it just makes things a little less clear thanks to software. That's like watching video on 480p on KZfaq and thinking you'll be able to watch it for far longer than someone who watches at 720p and above 😂.

I have the plus and the ultra and as others have said- I don't use the same pen and its too squared. It's heavy and uncomfortable. Very good phone but it's more than I really need. Your review was spot on. Spec wise it is better objectively but the + is more practical.

Thank you for your honest, upfront review of the S23 Plus. Enjoying mine more everyday, and coming from an S22 Ultra. Love the battery life and the flat display. Thinking of picking up another in Phantom Black with the 512 GB storage. Currently have Cream with 256 storage.

Literally just got mine on Thursday and have zero complaints. For a big phone it's no too unwieldy or heavy. The battery life is solid, cellular performance is dependable. Plus I got the 512GB version cheaper than the 256GB Ultra. The only thing on my wish list considering the price of the Plus would be a 1440P display.

The + verson is the Galaxy device to go for indeed. Like i started back in time with the S8+, S9+, S10+ and currently i have the S21+ (next to my 4 years old Note 10 Plus as my backup phone) I started the Galaxy line with the SII, S3, Note3, Note4, a sidestep with the S7edge, and then only the + Galaxy devices. I got the s23+ on preorder and I have never looked back. I have no regrets whatsoever. This is the best phone I've had, period. I came from a Galaxy Z Flip 3.

I just bought 2 days ago and I love it the video quality is so vibrant the camera takes good pictures and videos better than my old phone's and the Glass on the phone love it I got my phone from at@t so I would say to anyone that the Samsung Galaxy S23+is the way to go!

I'm 7 months behind, but I chose the 23+, a week ago. I'm coming from the OnePlus 8t +. I planned on going with the 512g Ultra. It was going to be $1248 with the discounted buds 2 pro, and a $125 trade-in I got the 256g 23+, for $648 with the same discounted buds, and $200 trading in the same phone. Seemed like good value for half the cost. Obviously there were concessions made, but I'm happy with the 23+. Also, I'm getting really good battery life from the 23+.

Oh Jay, AT&T is rock solid on the S23 Plus even in casinos here in Vegas. I had forgot to mention that when I picked it up AT&T gave me $800 trade in for my Pixel 4a 5G. The promotion is saying "any galaxy" but the actual promotion is any device with a trade in value of $35 will get you the $800 promotion on all S23 models. Wasn't sure if everyone knew that. 👍

Definitely comes down to personal preference. I've always thought that people who like smaller phones and/or rounded corners are getting a bit ripped off since the form factor they love doesn't come with all the best cameras etc. For me though, I *really* appreciate the squared off corners of the Ultra. The rounded ones make me feel almost claustrophobic. Content we view, whether it's videos or just scrolling various apps, comes in square form, so it just makes the screen feel that much larger and cleaner IMO Edit: Just got to the part where you're talking about the cameras. You seem to be under the impression that the S23 and S23+ have the same cameras as the S23 Ultra. They do not. The first two have 50MP main shooters and less zoom, vs 200MP etc. Totally different camera package. Still very good though.

For me I love the spen I use it everyday and I tried carrying it with me when I had the s21ultra I'm not doing that again...battery life isn't a issue for me on any device I have a charger in my car,my office and on my night stand...I never have a issue with battery...

If they did the Pixel in 512gb, or sd card slot, then would seriously consider getting that. I have always had Samsung so know roughly how they work. Know issue with no headphone jack but again seen that you can buy headphones that use the type c connector at the bottom of the phone and people say they are quite good, yes I am a fan of wired headphones. Really thought about the Sony Xperia 5 mark 4 but heard lots of issues with it shutting down on you due to heating issues. So really think the S23+ is going to be the next phone that I purchase and could be as soon as a couple of weeks. The Ultra, only reason to get that is for cameras but can't see me using them (not a master of photos, just click and share) and the s pen and can't see me using that. Apple don't like for to me it is a close shop, you have to buy Apple apps and products while Android is more open.

I haven't been seeing you because I guess the algorithm hadn't been giving me your videos and I'm glad I ran Into this video I see your thumbnail game has really stepped up. I didn't even recognize it with you until I locked in on it great job! I'm done with the ultra phones I loved my 10+ and now I have the S22 Ultra but my issue is the corners I was not able to get the value trade in for the last 2 time the screen likes to break alot because of the corners and I have in a otterbox😢 and still not good the way I used the phone alot thr battery life is ok but the charging on the S22 Ultra is like no other hands down so I don't worry about battery life much, My work phone is AS21 and I just really like how it handles itself the round corners. I barely drop it in everything and like you said that S pen I barely use it. I do use it and I like it when it comes to documents and everything but that's not often so I'm ready to give it up and try to. Get that s 23 Hopefully I can be able to keep it where I can get some value out of it. And be able to have a good trade when I'm ready for upgrade 😂

Had the ultra for not even 1 day and got rid of it. For one it would not stay connected to wifi 6(a known issue it turns out). For another the thing was far too large. I'd rather keep the 200 and forget about the stylus that I'd likely never use and the over-the-top camera.

I have the Samsung A54 which I got about a month ago. I have had text messages not going through for about a day, dropped calls, and message just not going through in general and lags.; I am going to go today and see if I can go with the Samsung S23 plus. This phone looks like it be a great phone. My A54 ALSO only has 128gb of storage. I need more storage than that.

I picked the 23+ over the Ultra. Already got a Galaxy Tab so no real need for a other S Pen and much prefer the flat display too

What screen protector did you use?

So I currently own the 23 ultra. For the same reasons, square corners, I don't use the camera or the spen at all. I think the 23 plus would be better suited for me I use 4g not 5g, i have 120hz screen, and.use qhd on my ultra. I get an avg of 10h sot on my ultra. With a quick google search, I see avg sot of 7h and some are getting 4-5. So my question is, those with the 23 plus phone, what is your avg sot? If i get the 10h avg on my ultra, using those same settings on the plus, you think I'll get 10h sot or even close??

Regarding the battery on the S23 Ultra, it was pointed out to me that the phone has to charge the S pen. I noticed that the battery on my S23 Ultra did not seem to be any different than the battery on my S21 Ultra, and mentioned it to a coworker. The S pen drains battery even when not being used.

Appreciate this Jay, this phone deserves all the love it can get. I’m deciding on upgrading between this and the 14 Pro Max (maybe even the Ultra) I absolutely love how sleek this looks.

Have it from 1 week go. Phone would be perfect if it wasnt for the 1080p resolution, hey shoul'dve given us 1440p. Coming from a S20+ (that had native 1440p but i would still uset at 1080), I can notice the difference. The rest of the phone is awesome

I thought the argument that you presented was cogent and logical. I was leaning toward the ultra but I couldn’t get past the S-pen, I had no interest or need, since the palm pilot. Will be evaluating battery over the next few weeks. Thanks for the advice, a lot of heavy selling on the ultra.

I enjoy your videos and respect you opinions. Battery life is very subjective so I never get into arguments with people about which one is the best. We can only speak about our own personal experiences like you said. For me I chose the ultra for the boxy design as I think it looks better and I love the s pen too. So far my battery life is excellent around 11 hours screen on time with around 30 hours between charges.

What about the main camera's hardware issue that causes a 'banana blur' on a certain area of a photo? Most noticeable if you take a photo of a document. I think because of that, it's a deal breaker for me.

I have a note 10 plus. I'm rejecting an option for a 23 ultra because of the size (otherwise it's very useful with S pen). My hesitation is between a 23 or a 23 plus. I can't and can't decide which of the two should be my new phone

I would go with the Ultra, because I like the bigger, boxier screen. I don't like the rounded corners that cut off some screen. Plus, I watch most of my content on my phone, so the bigger, the better. Also, I would like the better cameras, the stylus pen, and the higher resolution screen. Lastly, if I'm going to pay around $1000, I would want the best. Otherwise, I would just get a A33 or something.

I would have gotten the Ultra if it wasn't for the curved screen. I broke 2 notes while they were in a case in my pocket because of the curved screen and enough was enough. Happy with the S23+ but I miss the S pen.

I have the s22 ultra and the s23 plus. I can say I'm enjoying the s23 plus. It has great battery.

My son got the Ultra and he didn’t like the screen bleeding over the edge . He doesn’t use the S pen and cases are few and expensive.

I have the S23plus and I have a question. On the fan like icon that shows my connection it always has a small 6 on the right hand top of that fan like connection. I don't know what that icon is called. Can someone please tell me what or why that 6 is there? Thx.

If I didn't use the s pen as I much as I do I would have went with the plus because I think it feels better in the hands and looks better.

I have the s21 Ultra right now. Sadly the S23+ dosent have 10x optical zoom (i use it so much) so i will buy the ultra. My co-workers using s23 ultra daily and what i saw it is a beast.

I'd go for the plus since it is lighter and it has rounded corners that fit better in my pocket. I compared the brightness of the ultra and the plus znd I noticed that the ultra has a yellow tone, the plus was white, i went to 2 stores after i saw a video where i noticed that.

Thank you for this fantastic review! I upgraded from the S8+ to S23+ and it is a beautiful phone overall and in my opinion it is aesthetically perfect! The only thing is in the future, I would pay extra to have the extra 10x optical on the plus if that was a choice. Just like we have a choice 256gb or 512gb.

I think if you are willing to keep your phone for a long time the S23U is a way better investment, 200 bucks for a better camera, display, Spen is totally worth it, also the battery on the 23U last for more than a day.

I got the Ultra on February 13. Pre ordered it literally 8 hours within announcement on youtube. And yesterday i ordered the plus model 512 gig phantom black. Why? Because the Ultra is so frikin huge. My hands get tired all the time. Its large, its wide, its thicc! And putting a case on it. Fahgetta bout it.
