Finally. They're not copy Apple by removing a feature for once. Also, having 256GB as the main storage should've been that way in the first place when the Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra came out in 2020. Because the Galaxy Note10 / Note10+ came with 256GB as a main storage while the Galaxy S10 / S10+, S10 Lite and 5G came with 128GB as main. And for the record, those are 2019 phones. 3 years older. Yet people say it's a good idea to go back down on the 128GB for main storage and there is "no need for more". Storage tends to run out quicker than people think. Especially since we have the ability to record 4K and 8K. And going for lower storage is a disadvantage to the consumers. It's why I stayed on my Note10+ this entire time. Wish they kept SD cards. Because that's a double advantage. I still have a 1TB SD card (Yes, I know SSD's and USB drives exist. But no one is gonna have them dangling out their phones for daily use).

When S22 Series was released on preorder Samsung gave option to get 256GB in price of 128GB. I hope the next year will be the same so I could get 512GB of storage in price of 256GB. This would be wonderful

Exactly my point, 128GB without microsd card and for that high price companies are asking is way too overpriced and 256GB should be the base model and under 1k £/€/$.

I Have the Samsung S9+ and am very happy with it ? Until they come out with another phone that has the SD Storage I will keep what I have . The only feature I dont have is 5G but from what I hear at this point in time it sucks compared to 4G in most places .

My last two phones have been Samsung s10e and Samsung S21 - I've never owned a flagship phone before but the more I see the S23 ultra the more I want to splash out and treat myself. Jumping from a regular S21 to S23 ultra should be a pretty noticeable upgrade right?

look Samsungs tradition is to say how good they are for not removing the headphone jack/charger in the box. They will remove the simcard tray in 2024 or 2025 mark my words

finally it doesn't remove the physical sim card because the e-sim is embedded to physical sim because physical are very important than just removing it xiaomi for example they put a physical sim including an imbedded e-sim on the 12t series it's very good decision

Samsung should definitely do something about the weight. I'm using a smartphone which weighs 215g and it's a hassle to use it in one hand.

2:30 OMG! MY WISH HAS COME TRUE! Samsung actually listen to us! I could finally get the bigger 256GB option if I couldn't get the 512GB or 1TB options! Now I can transfer my apps from my previous phone (S22 Ultra 128GB option, or the old Realme 5 Pro) to the base variant S23 Ultra without worry of running out of storage space. 🤩😍

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be 8/256gb and 12/512gb. But still that's much better than last year 8/128gb for the same price as the 8/256gb in 2023 with a far better phone. This means you can get much more for the same price. And yes thank God no forced e-sim, I was scared they'd copy apple. Weight is a non-issue for big phone users really my iphone pro max is still heavier than that and I have no issues. All around good news but I'm still trying not to upgrade again after only a year again plus better improvements are coming soon 2024/25

No one really cares about how bright your phone can be instead of trying to have the brightest phone try and work on stuff that samsung phones need improvement in.

E sim and any transitional idea is undoubtedly going to have growing pains and early adopter issues, same as anything in tech discourse. The concept in theory is sound and doesn't realistically effect people as this lets on. I mean, E sim technically gives you the freedom and flexibility of a physical sims...and then some, as there's no theoretical limit on home many plans you could have or swap between. The execution, however, is solely where the issue lies and that isn't really apples fault as the infrastructure needs to catch up. Let's just be honest forna second here, the majority of the issues boil down to very niche fringe issues and not representative of the whole user experience as people are more inclined to complain when something goes wrong rather than needlessly praise such a trivial thing taken for granted. Again, realistically, this only applies to peoppe who travel constantly, not the average Joe.

As you’ve said Samsung may take a year or so to copy Apple…so I’m still nervous that this is ridiculous removal of a feature might be implemented soon. I really wish both manufacturers would go to dual physical AND dual eSim. Since dual physical sim is something the USA can expect NOT to happen I’d be willing to compromise with 1 physical sim and dual eSim like on the iPhone 13 models. Seriously though I feel like One Plus or Google Pixel could use an image/feature update and dual physical dual eSim would be a singular feature that could get me to switch.

Finally I’m glad Samsung are getting rid of the 128gb Storage option. 128gbStorage can only be valid with a microSD card slot.

Since the weight increase is insignificant why comment on it? ESim only phones isn’t a good idea. Nowadays even 256 gb base storage is cutting it close. Especially with memory card slots being disliked by the OEMs. Cloud storage has its pros and cons.

Samsung already has an esim option [in the UK atleast] from the s20 I think that's a good implementation as you can test out esim and if it is convenient for you or you can just use actual sim

8GB is not enough on Android. I returned my s22 Ultra 8GB and bought a 7 pro 12GB. It's a night and day difference.

I don't know when to upgrade, my note 10 plus still works like a charm.

12gb doesn't seem like much by today's standard for an "Ultra". My Note 20 Ultra had 12gb of ram. Hopefully the S24 Ultra will have a 16gb option with 1tb storage if they aren't going to bring back microSD support like that Note 20 Ultra had.
