I repaired a $300 tablet with this guide. The battery had swelled up (that happens if you keep it constantly plugged in, I found) and saved me the trouble of prying off the screen. Materials cost about $50, as others have noted. That's a big savings over what taking it to a repair shop would have cost. Thanks!!

Thanks! I replaced the battery on my tablet with a puffed battery that popped an edge of the screen. I only had to pry three sides of the screen. Battery kit and tape was about $23. It was way cheaper than a repair shop.

Watching the video gave me the confidence to do this myself. The replacement was easy. I first thought that I was going to buy a new tablet or take it to a repair shop. The battery kit and clamps and glue was about $40 bucks

This video really helped me. On the A7 I have, the battery was held in with something like command strips with little tabs sticking out to pull and release the battery. The kit i bought from Amazon just had double-sided tape to secure the replacement.

@Letsfigureitout-bj9fo in my case, the battery was swelling up, so it started pushing the screen out. I was worried that the battery might start a fire, so got the repair kit and figured I would give it a try.

Why should it be neccessary to remove the screen just to replace the battery? But since the display connection is that easy to remove, you just unplug it and don't need to mess around with it. Makes life while changing the battery way easier.

I saw a couple of repair Kits for the Tab A7, yet none of them contained glue for reglueing the display at the end. Is the regluing process necessary or can you reattach the display without glue?

Please buy the glue separate. Because without that you cannot secure the screen. Original adhesive or Glue (b7000/t7000)

hi sir, my screen is not powered up after changing battery, but the tab is powered up, can still hear system sounds. I didn't shut down the tab and didn't not remove battery first before disconnecting the screen ribbon. what's the potential issue and any solution?

Hi. Followed your how-to exactly, but when I got to testing the screen, there was no power. Nothing. Dead tablet, basically. Can only think I damaged something at some point. Maybe the little bitty plugs for the battery and screen are more fragile than I thought?

How did you heat the tablet to loosen the adhesive? If you used something too hot, like a heat gun, you may have toasted it. Literally.

@@ericalexander5890 didn't heat it at all. Didn't seem to need it. The screen was already partially coming off because the old battery was bloated, so I just inserted a guitar pick in the gap and slid it around.

What I just can't understand is why would the Makers of this Tablet be So Damn Stupid and Naieve to think that this would be a good idea for Someone to have to take the Screen off , to change the Battery ? This must be some kind of Marketing Ploy to get their Screens Sold cause i'm sure there are a lot of Screens being Broken from these Battery Changes even if they are by the Pros in the Workshops !!!!!😮
