I thought I had to replace the entire screen but it looks like I just need to replace just the screen cable. My screen mysteriously popped off without warning, tearing the connector cable. This makes a lot of sense. All I have to do is figure out what submodule year and serious run my particular Samsung A8 10.5" tablet it is. You made this look much simpler than I was expecting.

Thanks. I used it again to replace screen again from the same tablet. This time the biggest challenge was to remove glue residue and apply new one as it became very thick. Good guide. ❤

As a scale model builder and miniaturist, I usually use a cotton or solvent proof swab soaked in 90% disinfecting isopropyl alcohol or acetone (fingernail polish remover). All are available at any drug store. Do not use lacquer thinner, toluene or methyl ethyl ketone to remove the adhesive and adhesive residue as they will melt the plastics and try and delaminate any composite surface such as the touch screen

great video, my only comment would be the type of glue used in the reassemble, remember you may need to open the unit again, battery replacement or charging port , I would use 3m double sided tape.

Hello, do you mind give me some advice. I replaced the screen for my tablet. I checked if worked fine by connecting the flex connector to the new screen, I worked fine. When I glued the screen on the tablet and turned it on it didn't worked. It does turn on I can hear the sound of the notifications and when I plug in the charger. Do you have any idea what could have gone wrong. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for great tutorial. Just replaced broken screen for my son. Just had some problem with glue as it wasn't clear just yellowish . Can it be old glue ? very hard to push out of tube

they are boned together on this model, the time and effort in breaking that bond, together with the high risk of damage to the lcd, it really is not work the effort, just replace to unit. You also need to understand the lcd and digitizer are not just bonded round the edge but 100% of the area , This dries clear with UV light so there is the cost of this the bond to factor in

@@DIYGeardo Okay, thought it might be. Any idea why the touch recognition would be intermittent, ie it works on home screen but once you pull down a menu or enter into a pop up box it does not register touches but turning off/on display seems to make touch work again but only for a few touches then it fails again!
