I purchased the A7 on a whim because I recognised the processor brand and trusted it more. Turns out, it's got a better multi-core speed, which in my opinion, is more important for work than either single-core or graphics capabilities. The only reason I can see myself getting the A8 is the longer software support, but at this point, I don't really think it matters on Android. As long as the device gets security updates, which it's supposed to for another 3 years, it'll run any app you can download perfectly fine. Past three years, I likely won't even be using it. So, yeah, I believe the A7 to be the better purchase for me, at least from my perspective. My gut was, indeed, right.

you don't need to worry about security updates. Google provides automatic security updates (excluding samsung's knox) for a long period, they infact, just stopped giving it on the galaxy S3 last year. A 9 year old phone!!!

Thanks for comparing them side by side! From your review and your tone of voice, it doesn’t seem like you’re impressed by the A8 and doesn’t seem like an upgrade at all. I was hoping they’d stick something atleast as powerful as the Mediatek g90t and not a lateral upgrade in chipset.

@@FishBeeProductions lol you always keep a similar tone but I could sense the disappointment in this one, or maybe it’s just me projecting. Worse screen resolution, worse cameras, no HD for Netflix, negligibly better processor and same everything else. I would like to see Samsung copy the Apple route and bring back older flagships with and make them the “new” low end tablet instead of wasting resources on making lateral products.

A8 and A7 are practically same, except the processor and longer software support...and wifi tab A7 is retailing for 170 dollar in India i.e. Rs. 12749/- in flipkart..grab that..no point investing more for a8.. S6 lite is better, but doesn't deserve 26k in India..ipad should be around 300 dollar, but in India its 400+ dollar.. everything is damn costlier..grab an old A7 in cheap..

As an IT pro I can tell you that there is absolutely no reason why a tablet should only get "software" support for 2-3 years. Then be cut off from support! This is strictly imposed by Samsung to encourage consumers to keep...consuming. This nasty trend is only hurting the earth we live on. Samsung please break this trend by making it very easy to install the latest Android versions on aging/old tablets, similar to how the latest Linux installs on the oldest of computers. Stop requiring techs to have to "root" and otherwise hack a tablet after a few years to get secure updated Android versions to run on it!

I got my tab a7 on sale new for $120. Honestly at that price I'm not even mad about the 3gb ram. All I use it for is youtube anyway.

thanks for the comparison, but obviously a7 screen is a lot better than a8, the colors on a8 is kind of washed out. i was testing in the shop i had a problem looking on it, and on hardware it's only a tiny bit of difference

With the exception of the increase in available memory size to 128 GB the A8 would seem to be a downgrade from the A7. Screen image quality and brightness and apparent case quality (the A7 with its rounded bezel looks more upscale than the non-rounded black plastic on the A8) is better on the A7 (although the screen is 0.1 inch smaller). The CPU performance appears to be a wash (multicore performance is better on the A7) although I prefer the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 in the A7 to the Unisoc T618 in the A8 - no idea why Samsung made this change. If you can find an A7 (assuming at a lower price since it will eventually be replaced by the A8) buy it....

P11 plus is a much better device, especially if you get the 6gb/128gb option, the P11 Plusnis more comparable to the S7 FE

My sons A8 from 2019 has been through the ringer and is finally needing a replacement battery and port,Mico usb probably why. But with his birthday in onw week I'm thinking just upgrading to a new one, but Watchung this to try snd decide, and yeah,all he does on the tablet is gaming, and videos. I was leaning more towards the A8 cus that's whay we had before and it held up to his roughness.but I am more confused on which one to get now cus it sound like the A7 is supposed to be better, but isnt..idk

I just don't want the Mico usb charging port, sick of those, type is is just so much more durable. Would love to jusy throw away all our old micro usbs. Anyways of anyone can give me like a final recommendation as to which one would be best for my kid, that'd be awesome, I'm just needing it to be under 200$ and I've found both for right about that,used. But new, and preferably the 64GB one, I do also like the updates for the A8,but it sounds like both will get the security updates so that's not a biggie. Anywho, which is more durable perhaps? That's the one ide go for I think. Thought I also saw one that had a 4GB Ram, idk which one that was though.

In March 2022. I am going with Samsung galaxy Tab A 7 (SM -T500) 3gb 32gb at 14999 ( 3000 discount From Samsung official Shop ) instead Samsung Tab A 8 and Realme pad . I do some research . I don't recommend A 8 and Realme pad at this price point. For Study purpose and Normal multitasking Samsung galaxy tab A 7 ( Having eMMC 5.1and Well optimized software experience) is Far better than Samsung galaxy tab A 8 and Realme pad. Please purchase Tab A 7 from Samsung official shop.

If your on a budget u recommend getting the s 6 lite there are plenty of sales and definitely check out best buy and go look at open box options you can examine them and get a great discount plus since your a student i think you can get a discount as well . Because if you get the a8 with 64 gb then its already 279 which is the price of a s6 lite or less on sale . And the s 6 lite comes with a really great stylus

Are you from States as well cuz the pricing are options may vary you know so please let me know what the a7 can do or what I'm sorry what it's priced at and what the A8 is priced at cuz they're usually around the same price to be honest but again if you want it primarily for note taking I would still recommend that s6 lite because the s pen functionality on that is really nice it's very smooth it's active stylus but it's not a has it doesn't have any Bluetooth features but I don't think you even need those

It’s the same comparison as Tab A7 vs S6 Lite except A8 will have an extra 1.5 years of software support. If you’re in market for the S6 Lite, I would save a little more and get the S7 FE, it feels much snappier and overall a much bigger improvement than the A7/A8 over the S6 Lite.

Samsung galaxy Tab a7 will be better because Samsung galaxy Tab a7 and Samsung galaxy Tab A8 both are same only difference is that the processor. The processor of Samsung galaxy Tab a7 is Snapdragon and Samsung galaxy Tab A8 is quad core so Snapdragon is faster than quad core so Tab a7 is better for gaming like codm and genshin.

@@abdulkadar5016 I got the samsung galaxy s7 fe since my parents got tired of me dragging around 😆. I couldn't find A7 or A8 in stock at least the ones I wanted but got that other tab with bigger screen and 128gb. Needed to pay bc parents tho the extra cash I didn't have

Samsung puts stupid old and slow processors to this tablets, why they can't put a snapdragon 860 at least, even if it cost 50 usd more, it will made a better product overall

Desde 2021 con la A7 y todavía funciona perfectamente! Me parece raro que no haya salido una A9... PD: escribo esto en enero de 2024.

What I understand is A8 is slightly better than A7, if I don't want to end up with screen size, then I prefer only with A7 for now. Thanks for the video.

Wait you did an audio test? How can that even be relevant? You are recording a video that means the audio quality is going to change at least 3 times before even getting to us the video watcher. First your microphone is going to distort the audio, then when you upload it to youtube it's going to get distorted again. Then finally when we watch the video it will come though what ever speakers we will be using to listen to the audio with again, which again will change how the audio sounds.
