Really appreciate the great review. I used to have s7 FE and the function of connecting to projector with samsung deX is quite important for me. I am glad to know that they unfortunately downgrade the usb-c port as 2.0 like what Apple has recently done... i do not understand this logic at all... Anyways, thank you again for this detail review. The way of pointing the short comings out subjectively and thoroughly is really impressive. Thanks 😊

You mean Tab S4, not S6 Lite. BRUH, the overpriced/overhyped S6 Lite doesn't even have SUPERAMOLED, u brainfarts! This is getting suffocating. You pay more, for: 1) no headphone jack 2) no Samsung DeX 3) no AMOLED screen Jesus Christ I swear to God, this is the same nonsensery as in the overpriced Anker 5 (?) power bank being recommended for handhelds like steam deck, or Rog Ally meanwhile it has LESS (real) battery capacity, is BULKY af and is overall a total waste of cash since you can get something with more actual capacity and similar quality for like almost half the price such as the INIU B61 or whatever it was called. This bloody sheeple mentality is driving me mad to be in this world

Well I’m sure this one will be much better- but the S6 lite usually costs$249 and right now this one is $449! In a few months when this goes on sale and gets discounted - probably $349- $399 or so - it will be a better comparison and probably a great upgrade for us S6 lite users!

Great review. Do you have a MHL to HDMi adapter? The older Tab S6 Lite could mirror the screen with that to external monitors.

i have a usb c to hdmi adapter, unfortunately it doesn't work on this but it does on the regular tab s9, S7 FE, S8 series, etc

I just ordered it! I will use it in addition to my convertible hp laptop for uni, some games and watching Videos. I'm an average user and don't need the most powerful and largest device of all time, so it seems to be perfect, especially because I'll get the book cover for free. :D I ordered the 12GB RAM and 256 GB version btw.

I wished the S9 FE would have retained the S6 lite's 10.4 inch size. I currently have both and at first thought I would be sending the S9 FE back to Samsung and keeping the Tab S6 lite 128gb because my very first user experience with this S9 FE ended up with me writ8ng which I quite often do. I think all the initial downloading and initial set up was still in the process and I had a massive nightmare lagging writing experience that was so bad that, I had totally boxed the S9 FE back up. Ultimately I ended up giving it one more try and thats when I realized that it was actually just fine and that it indeed was the better overall tablet than the Tab S6 lite 2022. The situation I have now is that I already had Tab S8 and so now I have two totally identical same size tablets. This S9 FE after my trade only ended up costing me $75. Id rather have the Tab S9 Ultra but Im about to get a new flagship phone so the Ultra was a little too expensive all thoughIm still considering it. Great review!

Im curious if there is any difference between the s pen in tab S9 and tab S9 FE ? You state earlier that it doesn't need to charge therefore it's a dummy s pen right? Because if im not mistaken the s pen in S9/S9+/S9 ultra require charging. Anyway, thank you for the review! S9 FE is so underrated

I have the ipad pro m2, surface pro 14, and s9 fe. I prefer the s9 fe for productivity. I use the ipad pro for mainly watching videos, checking emails, and playing bloons. The system is too closed and is a big hassle to work around for productivity. fyi if you need a calculator app ipad doesnt come with one and you need to download one wth ads.

Without video out for an external monitor, I think you'd be better off with a small 13-14 inch laptop. The lack of video out limits work options quite a lot, it remains not much more than a media consumption device, for which you can get a much cheaper tablet.

S9fe is much more advanced compared to S7fe, this is a problem both in terms of RAM and storage, but I think the most important thing is that this is the latest version and the big difference is that this is the most up-to-date product. I know that S7fe will not receive updates yet, but S9fe is a powerful device and it will last 4-5 years. It gets more updates and this will enable you to have a more enjoyable time throughout your university life. Personally, I would buy the S9fe because it is a more powerful and more up-to-date device in terms of hardware.

Nice review...but I think the processor Samsung chose is mediocre at best. At the very least they should have gone with the Exynos 2200 rather than the 1380.

Are you sure about the video out. In the spec list it says USB 3 with dp out on samsung's website. Maybe they changed course? Otherwise honestly it is a pretty big downgraded area after over 2 years.

I would really appreciate a "9FE (+ or not) VS s8+" As I'm really torn between the two at the moment honestly I'm a disabled student on a bit of a tight budget and saving up for a good new tab (coming from the tab s6 lite 2020). I'm mainly looking for good s-pen functionality for note-taking etc and bigger size screen (the ultra is too big for me).

I think it's just really nice with all the improvements over the (still very overpriced, somehow) S7 FE: better base RAM, better base storage, IP68, etc., although, I will say this: just get the S9 5G. The S7 FE is so overpriced 😧

yeah, but also the base price of the same size model has gone up somewhat... and the CPU has stayed the same (I run the same benchmark on my S7FE Wifi model and got results that are essentially the same, actually slightly better). But at least the 5G model this time is not slower...

Im incredibly disappointed with my Tab Fe 7. As far as media consumption goes it’s great but, trying to run google meet with sharing almost always leads to crashes. I hope that this doesn’t suffer the same sort of problems… trying as hard as I can not to buy an iPad but it seems like it might be inevitable…

@@saieshwar2 trust me...go for the s9 base tablet or wait for it to drop ....nothing is close to that in the next 2 to 3 years....imagine buying a tablet way ahead of everything ....1 year from now that s9 wont even drop price ...even s8 is expensive still ....save you money , go for the end game tablet, last longer then buying 3 x cheap tablet and changing them every 2 to 3 years... I got s9 base.....its worth every single penny i spent . ..movie ,work, the included ip68 stylus, the smooth included keyboard, light weight less then 500g, friendly system, beautiful dynamic amoled 120hz display ...no regrets ...probably the best tech samsung ever made to me

If you need to use your device frequently for work, Xiaomi Pad is a better option. Otherwise S9 FE is fine for light work.

@@saieshwar2 samsung fe isnt worth it....too much cutting corner for half the price ...its a scam ..xiami pad 6 cut too much corner ( older version snapdragon,ips screen,gorilla 3, no keyboard , slower system , and much more cutting corner)... i was like you looking for cheaper alternative....then i went microsoft shop( surface pro), apple shop( m2), huawei (mate 11 pro), honor, xiaomi , oppo, one plus latest tab....i look through all every single tab and tried them at shop...nothing came close to s9 (s9 base , plus and ultra has the same exact spec except for size)....best tech purchase i made since huawei mate 20 pro

Please don't be lazy and do a standardized battery test. Also, share more than screen brightness: 1. battery saver on/off 2. background apps open/closed 3. volume setting 4. activity performed 5. refresh rate I'll stop here because you get the picture.

I am an Apple user but I decided to get this for Christmas because Apple has gotten so overpriced and you can add storage up to 1tb. an iPad pro without cellular and without any extra storage options is twice the price which sucks so that's why I am deciding to try Samsung after a few years because my last Samsung tab stopped working due to being so old that it wont charge anymore.

Using a brand is always good. Go for samsung. If there is any service supports needed in any case, Samsung will be the best option and they would definitely keep their standard.

For all people asking whether s9'S cover fits the s9 Fe or not ...S9 & S9 FE S9+ & S9+ FE accessories are the same ... officially announced by samsung ...available in their website.... i got the S9+ FE 2 days ago and it is super good for its price 500$ almost identical to the S9+ main differences are the Amoled display and the processor (500$ more) ... i am medium to lower heavy-duty user ...i found it fine .. i am heavy Mobile legend gamer ( doesnt require much as CoD mobiles or Pubg) ON on highest settings... but who can play with a 12.4 inch screen 😅😅😅 possible only with controller .. i am keeping my holdable 11 inch tablet so i can play

Can you please go check Samsung website you will find out that the accessories are identical ... For your informations S9 cover's is two part cover so thickness doesn't matter ...

A nice step up from the S6 lite? Sure. From the S7FE? Not at all... I run the same benchmark on my S7FE Wifi model and got results that are slightly better (1005-2804, essentially within the margin of error), which is unfortunate given that the price of that size has gone up...
