I don't think LTE will work unless you have a Samsung phone, may vary according to regions. Don't know why most Galaxy Watch 4/5/6 reviewers conveniently forget to mention this.

Actually you can use any phone that is esim compatible. Not just samsung phone. Then you call airtel or Jio (only 2 comps providing esim) and get your esim on phone. I so want to buy the classic 43mm but need to first get the esim-compatible phone. I can get this phone and watch reimbursed (totally free from my sister's job), but my present phone is just 1 yr old and working, and there is NO exchange offer for this model. I can't dream of keeping 2 phones even though the new one will be free. It's such a wastage of resources. I am proudly old-school and earth-friendly. I am ready to get even rs2000 as exchange offer to buy new phone 😢😢.

Here in India, all articles state you need an esim-compatible phone in order to receive phone calls on LTE watch (without the phone nearby). As in, I leave my phone in kolkata and receive and make calls on/from my LTE watch in delhi. I have a galaxy m32. Do you mean I can leave my m32 and just move to another state.

Is there a way to setup the watch6 as a stand alone phone? It's basically so my kid can use it to text and call us, but without them getting my texts, emails and calls. I purchased one and it has LTE and it's own phone number but still requires a phone to setup. My kid doesn't have their own phone, so I'd have to use mine, which is what I'm teting to avoid. Any advise would be helpful.

I don't know if you have gotten any feedback or a solution, but you can set the watch up as standalone on any major cellular network. I have 3 Galaxy Watches (3, 5, and 6 Classic) and they are all standalone on the Verizon network.

I was told that the 6 is no longer a standalone device, meaning no separate cell phone number for just the watch. I've been the phone with tmobile for 4 days setting this watch up since my s3 frontier is permanently stuck in reboot mode and last night I was told that it was setup, I disconnected the watch from my s24 & made 2 calls that went through so we assumed all was good. Well this morning I realized I never got the phone number for the watch and tmobile gave me technical support who told me thst due to a software change these phones don't support standalone anymore. So why still sell LTE phones? Anyone else experienced this?

I have a question, now 5G connection has reached even the remote areas in India, how will it affect the 4G range of smartwatches? After 2 or 3 years will this lte version of GW 6 be useless if a 5G enabled smartwatch comes out? Please reply as I'm planning to buy GW6 LTE.

Hi it wont make much of a difference as you will be mostly using the phone for calls and data, you can use LTE on the watch only when you don't have the phone on you which rarely is the cases unless you leave your phone for the entire day, 4g is good enough for a watch

I started Mobile plan configuration in Wearable app for my Galaxy watch 6 with a physical prepaid sim card in my S23, from a provider which does not have esim for prepaid. The app failed to configure the Mobile plan for this sim and next step was to scan a QR code for another esim which I had from a different provider. Now I have the Watch 6 LTE activated with a different number, I can use it without the phone, but I can also call or answer from the watch when it is connected with the phone using the phone number.

No you can sue the watch with the phoen enar by but if you left yoru phoen at home you can't use it unless it has a number on it to get signal from the enar towers which LTE does but if you only have the other with no number the phone has to be near you to work. Lines are nto ahrd tog et for the watch if you have good server they put them on yoru watch depend on where you are.

Only problem is when u try to clear data and cache from Google play system, the watch going to be disconnected and we have to reset the watch in order to reconnect. So what will happen with ESIM activation?
