I have the S23 A350H so I followed this video's directions, except I googled the firmware for my particular model instead of the S24. Worked perfectly. I love your line at the end, "Some people can't be bothered to google it." SO GREAT. Didn't know that updating firmware was a thing to try. Thank you!

The same problem in my office monitor SA300 no signal/black screen. I already bring to the computer shop for repair, and they said need to replace the LED panel. :) so I decided to bring it back to the office and put in the cabinet for a month long. And now i found this video and try if work, wow...! it's really worked!!! hehehe Thank you so much!

Give this a thumbs up to help people still struggling; I had been having this problem for the longest time, and like most of the people still struggling I was getting the 'No monitors need to update' message. Anyway long story short - after disabling my graphics card in the control panel and still having no luck, I decided to completely remove it from my computer. Removing the graphics card FORCED my screen to be run purely by my on board graphics card, which then spoke to my screen and made the update go through! I seriously recommend you try this if the video fix still isn't working for you.

No my problem was that the monitor needed the firmware update, but it only worked when I unplugged my graphics card and plugged the monitor into the onboard graphics VGA port. If I tried doing it while the graphics card was still attached to my motherboard it wouldn't work - even if I had it plugged into onboard graphics.

This worked for me on S22A350, The symptoms on my screen were a bit different. The screen showed the "analog/Digital" box on the top fine. The check signal cable, and menu, etc all fine. But as soon as I plugged in an HDMI/VGA cable, the screen would go black (the computer recognizes the monitor). I did the update as explained here and it worked!

Worked on my s24a300b that's around 8 years old. HDMI did not work, using HDMI showed firmware to be up to date, but when connected by VGA to my old laptop it updated perfectly and came back to life. Thanks!

I have a S27D360H that was doing the same thing. I had a chat with support because I couldn't find the firmware. Apparently it can't be updated, but he had me unplug the monitor from the power and the PC for 30 seconds and that did it. She's back!

Wow! Thank you for this quick fix. I really thought its was my PC's RAM thats acting up but found out its was my monitor all along. I have a SyncMaster SA300 on my home, and an extra monitor that is working, since I dont have any extra HDMI or VGA plug on my hardware, so I operated blindly. Before opening the app, I plugged my VGA to the Samsung monitor from the working monitor I have, then hit Spacebar button. To make sure I waited for 15 minutes just to make sure. I noticed the monitor's blue light is off so I unplugged the adaptor on the back on the monitor and then put it back again. And whadayaknow~ it worked! (y) This is still useful after all these years (y)

FYI I was getting the message about the Firmware was already up to date and wouldn't run. In my case, I believe it was looking at my WORKING Samsung SyncMaster 2693HM and NOT the "broken" SA300. I then connected the SA300 to my ASUS laptop, via a standard VGA cable, downloaded the firmware again on the ASUS, and it ran perfectly, and was very fast (unlike in his video), and is now working perfectly! THANK YOU "ubuntututorials"!!!!

I have s24a450b and it totally worked!! :DD when it says it's already updated try to connect both your old and new monitors! it said mine's fully updated when i tried it only with my old monitor connected to my computer but once i connected both of them at the same time, the firmware thingy suddenly began to update and it finally worked!!! thank you a lot!!!!

Glad this worked for you, seems like a lot of trouble, you're lucky to have been running a laptop and had that screen to use for it. I have a Samsung Syncmaster TA9650 and was getting 'No Signal' appearing with my desktop PC connected, Ie. no other screen to update firmware on, turns out removing the HDMI cable from my computer and *re-inserting it more firmly into the videocard* fixed the problem, I blame my computer and the HDMI socket on my videocard being pushed slightly too far inside the back of my rig. :-/ Glad it wasn't a problem with firmware though, just a dodgy connection on my PC's side. ;) Hope this helps some people out there getting the 'No Signal' message with a desktop PC.

Just put it next to my 24" iiyama. It looks nice. Dual monitor set up for £30. The iiyama was a work freebie (had some cold solder joints, easily fixed.)

Thank you! done today on my LS27A550HS/EN. The hints is to reflash it thru VGA and not hdmi, as with VGA you can replace the firmware by the same one (in hdmi the application prevent replacing the firmware by the same version). Hardest thing is to find a PC with a native VGA port (seems it does not work with all PCs). Notice I have asked Samsung how to replace the firmware as not working in hdmi, and the answer was to send the monitor to Samsung's repair center with a cost higher than the price of the monitor...

All right so... 1) get a laptop with a VGA cable or VGA adapter and plug that with your monitor still connected 2) download latest firmware for monitor 3)wait until download finishes, restart may be necessary

First I downloaded the driver but it didn't work, after that I downloaded the firmware and it worked (the update can only be done with a vga cable, HDMI doesn't work)

Today I got 13 monitors for free, most of them were old 5:4 ones, the newer ones were all broken (panel?) only the samsung S22A450 seemed to work on first glance, then bummer it didn't pick up the signal. I had to connect it to a different PC, because it didn't work with the GPU (960, gave me already updated or not found error) in and my PC (former workstation) only has 1 VGA onboard. When connected to a different PC with a DVI and VGA onboard, it worked flawlessly via VGA and also notably faster than shown in the video. - So you can add the S22A450BW to the list. Thanks for the Video and the helpful comments!

THANKS SIR! Worked as charm i was thinking about capacitors problem.(S24A350) For others who can't update -> it seems that it is not possible with ATI/AMD card. I had to switch my laptop to integrated intel graphic and that did the trick.

Ha, i never would have suspected the firmware! Just got this S27A350H from the scrapyard and after updating the firmware it jumped back to life! :D Thanks. BTW: i had to use my Laptop (ATI GPU) because it didn't work on my desktop with a Nvidia GPU. Not sure if that was the actual Problem but anyway, now it works!

thank you very much for your guide, only thing I would stress out is that you have to have your monitors in Extend mode. When I tried to update firmware with Duplicate settings (which works for me when I am working with laptop in docking station), it didn't work.

For everyone here getting the "Your firmware is up to date", I got the same message. The only option that worked for me is to: Find a computer that is running windows 7 (might work on xp or vista, havent tried), and connect it to VGA port. Then download the firmware for your monitor on the pc with win 7 and with the external monitor connected.

finally it worked for me , thanks ! However you should maybe use the pc with 2x monitors. in my case i only have a tv with avg and my sa300 with 1dvi but it worked, whereas i tried using 2 different laptops with avg cable and it told me it has the latest update. Just try it several times.

Still work omg :)) i just got the monitor from my friend..the problem is you need an laptop with win 7 and the dvx cable to instal the firmware ...with hdmi cable it didnt worked for me
