I got the 32" G7 based on your recommendation and really like it. I was a bit afraid of the curve but I like it now. The only minor nitpick I have is that it curves more in the center and then flattens out towards the edges. This makes it so that the center 50% of the screen or so is just about perfectly normal or 90 degrees to my vision which makes it perfect, but then the last few inches on the left and right edges are not perpendicular to my vision and are angled away a little bit which is not ideal since you get the best picture when the screen is directly facing you. I would have preferred the new G5 34" ultrawide format but for now the G7 is a huge improvement over my old 27" TN.

Would sitting back just a inch or so further make it less noticeable
@El_Chompo
@El_Chompo Жыл бұрын
@@jgvtc559 It's not really noticeable when gaming FPS with it, which is what I got it for. I realized that the reason for the different radius at the center and sides is to offer a compromise so that you can use the monitor at a very close distance like a lot of FPS gamers prefer, or from a farther distance like a normal desktop user when you are just chilling around working on documents or whatever. So because of this range you can use it either way and it's really nice. It's such a huge improvement over my last small flat panels. If the monitor had a constant curvature then it would be ideal for immersive games like FPS or any first person games like racing. But I also realized that modern games field of view is made for flat panels. So curved ones, although they fill your vision better, and provide a more direct viewing angle for better quality of image, have the downside of nobody programming field of view into account for them. So the way that things stretch and distort on the edges of your vision happens at a different rate depending on how curved your screen is. The logical conclusion really I think is when VR goggles get good enough that you have as good or better pixel density, response time, refresh rate, color reproduction etc, as the best gaming monitors today. Because having a monitor that was a constant curve that filled your whole vision would be huge and expensive in comparison you would think, plus inconvenient with how much room it fills up in your house.

Hi, What are your thoughts on the Samsung Odyssey G52A 27"? I haven't seen you review this range from the G5 selection - What monitors would you compare it too? I bought one today in Australia for $299 AUD on sale from $719 AUD. Would i have been better off with the Dell S2721DGF (usually $450 AUD when a deal pops up) or the LG 27GP850-B (usually $550 when a deal pops up) I would be using it for work purposes and light gaming (COD etc). I know the ports are lacking and dated but one HDMI into a USB C to HDMI adaptor should do the trick for the work laptop. I thought at $299 it was a steal... Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What monitor should I get if I want a 1000R (or 1500R) monitor with a fast refresh rate and not that VA nonsense? Or are there good VA panels fit for gaming under all those "strongly curved" displays? In other words: I want a 34" variant of the Odyssey G9 (I would actually pay that money, but it's WAY too big)

I'm using a 32" G7 (with a 1000R curve). I don't know why Tim couldn't get used to it, and I don't really understand all of the hate it's getting from some people for that curve. I was actually quite worried that I wouldn't like the curve as well, but I wanted to try it out to see if I liked it. I was thinking that I would probably return it, but I got used to it really quickly. I never find the curve to be a problem. It's just less than ideal if you want to watch something on the monitor with multiple people, so if you want your monitor to double as a TV for watching movies with one or two friends, this is probably not the best choice. Black uniformity is also not great, but I find that I only notice it when the entire screen is black, and it really doesn't bother me. I find that I prefer curved monitors to flat monitors now. It's been great for working with documents, browsing the web, watching videos, or playing games.

One thing to consider and what is my main consern when shopping for a new panel is how the monitor brand handles "dead/white pixels". In my experience samsung is usually relatively chill to deal with if you get a monitor with dead pixels compared to others even thou they don't define it clearly 8 i mostly had higer end displays. What is so frustrating thou is that a lot of brands seems to try to kinda hide their "dead/white pixel" policy.

I bought a Samsung G5 LC27RG50FQUXEN 1920x1080 two years ago and I can confirm it has issues with some smearing and it depends on what kind of games you are playing to perceive it. If you have a line of text (white character names) moving (scrolling) through the screen you will notice a trail, but for example, in Forza Horizon 5 the smearing is not visible as images (cars) are moving very fast. I am thinking maybe toward end of the year to get the G7 1440p as it should have significantly better response times and no smearing/trails?

hello, I am new to PC Hardware and I am confused by the response time MS graph. Monitor says 1ms response time, but at 7:04 it says response time is 12.08? Please explain if I get this monitor if I will shoot myself in the foot with FPS games

Waiting on a G7 Flat to sit next to my G7 32", using the same panel. Such a great monitor for my console as well as using it as my main PC gaming monitor now. Still need to replace my Acer 1080p 144Hz which is my primary monitor otherwise but need a flat due to desk depth.

I have this same monitor at the house, and I have my Amazon fire stick hooked up to it, but I hooked my PC up to it, and I'm getting those black borders on the sides. It's not getting the fool screen look. What's a good Gaming PC tower for it.

Hi, need your help. I want to buy one of these monitors (used): -Xiaomi Mi 34" (240€) -Samsung G5 34" (250€) -AOC CU34G2X (270€) I just cant figure out which one to choose. I won't use the original stand and I don't really need a USB hub. I will use the monitor for CAD work, gaming and a little video editing.

Didn't see an MSI MPG341CQR in the stats. Just ordered one. Tell me if I've made a 200+ dollar mistake..? Also not sure why it's more with conversion in the States, but this is selling on Amazon Canada for 650 bucks right now. Could be a good deal for someone.

I seen this monitor around 300 dollar price range (the 32 model). Would that be considered a good price for this?

Bought the G7 a few months ago and I'm looking to return it. Too many issues with it to mention. I'm usually pretty lax, but there's scan-lines appearing, gamma settings changing, periodic black-screens, and the adaptive sync function doesn't work as it should. There's numerous "workarounds" to be found, but there's still a lot of issues to be had.

What year model is this? Is there a 2021 or only 2020 version? Thanks

Why the gray-to-gray performance charts have different values for some monitors in this video compared to the same monitors in other review videos, like the Gigabyte M27Q review?

What about a review of one of iiyama G-Master monitors - for example the flat IPS GB3461WQSU-B1? I would be interested what you have to say about the panel.
