In today's video we take a look at all of the main features of One UI 6.1. It just recently dropped for last year's devices, so please check for the update often if you have one of the S23, Flip or Fold 5, and Galaxy Tab S9.

for anyone that cares, i started in the tech industry in 1995 with Windows 95 which was released August 30, 1995. I stood in line at CompUSA Woodland Hills (Los Angeles) at midnight to get one of the first copies. It was a 24-floppy disk program. Ugh. I studied windows nt 3.5 (a network operating system) and became Microsoft certified systems engineer on Windows 2000 server / Active Directory. Which means? In 30 years as a tech guy (Trainer, Network Engineer, Cisco certified, blah, blah, blah...) have seen it all and done it all. Radar Tech gives thee best tech videos hands down. Constantly. regarding gestures. Problem with swiping from the sides now is if you use One Hand Operation. I swipe to sides to open certain apps

Ohh, that's a really good point. I haven't used One Handed operation mode in a while, and just tried it for the first time in a while after reading your comment. Yep, totally agree, it is kind of lame when doing one handed gestures in One Handed mode. Thanks for stopping by and sharing this info.

Will the notes AI work with a handwritten PDF that is added as an attachment to a note? For example if you wrote on real paper with pen but wanted to import it into notes and have it convert to digital.

That's a really great question. I just tested it out, and it's Yes and No. So you do get the AI option and it will highlight the text, but I'm noticing it's only offering 2 of the 4 options. Summarize and Translate. Keep in mind though I've only just now tested it with a couple PDF's that I just dropped into an existing note. The results might vary some depending on what you add to your notes. Thanks for stopping by.

good stuff my friend. i have the tab s8 ultra and hopefully these updates make it to mine. I have them on my s24 ultra n use most of them. cool features. just not happy that samsung might start charging for it.

During my evaluation, I noticed an anomaly in the generative fill feature. Specifically, it added an extra finger to my wife's hand in one of the generated images. Despite this minor issue, I found the overall walkthrough to be informative and well-structured. Wow, AI rewrites can be wordy. 😂

Question.... Maybe I'm misunderstanding this but if I download this update (I haven't downloaded it yet but it's scheduled to install on Monday, will the update take away the 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen on my S24 Ultra? I don't use the swipe gestures. I use the buttons. I've had multiple iPhone's so it wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to use the navigation bar but if possible, I'd like to keep using the 3 buttons. If the new update installs the navigation bar automatically, Are you able to reset it so you can use the 3 buttons again in settings or the Good Lock app?

Hi, thanks for stopping by. There's no impact to the 3 button navbar settings at all. You can keep on using the 3 buttons, it won't be any different. If, after the update, it defaults you to swipe gestures, just head into your Settings -> Display - Navigation bar and switch them back to buttons. Have fun with the new update!

Not that it'd be the end of the world if I had to use the navigation bar as I've had iPhone's before so I know how it works but I would prefer to use the 3 buttons. I have a galaxy s23 ultra and ut doesnt give me the option to go back to the original swipe mode. It is druving me nuts! Under more options, it does not show the options to use the old setup. HELP

If you find NavStar doesn't have the "enable more gestures" setting, then you can uninstall the latest version and sideload the previous version and it will be there. I actually traded mine in for the S24U, so I'm not able to check. From what I've been seeing on reddit though, most folks seem to be pretty happy with the battery life since the update. Thanks for stopping by.

Yeah, it's coming to the S22 line, for sure. I know they'll be removing a lot of the AI stuff, so it's likely going to be a bit different in that regard.

Other than the AI features I don't like OneUI 6.1. I hate the new gestures and I don't have access to good lock where I live. So I had to reeable the traditional menu I don't like... I preferred 85% to 80%. I updated on my S9 and S23 but will delay it as long as I can on my S8 ultra and S7FE, where there are no AI features...

I kind of have to agree with you. If you take the AI stuff out of the equation, there's not really much improved really. It's just minor release though, I'm not expecting anything major until we get One UI 7. Thanks for stopping by.

I don't understand why they didn't tell us how the swipe gestures changed. I was like - what the heck did everything just break? I don't mind the new gestures - but if you're going to change the UI then you need to tell users...

new gestures are awfull on cell whet you try to move a slide bar on a webise or app it goes back , REALY anoying
