One thing I didn't mention in the video is that the makers of Unisoc chips is a company called Tsinghua Unigroup, which has recently gone bankrupt despite the Chinese government throwing billions at them to prop them up. It's 2021.... You really think a missing headphone jack is the reason a phone isn't selling well, then I don't know what to tell you....I heard Lenovo laptops are gathering dust on shelves because they don't have disk drives SD card readers.....I'd give you that if: 1. Samsung aren't already the leading manufacturer of removable storage. They would make MORE money from phones keeping their SD reader. Samsung removing that particular feature from their flagships should tell you something about just how many people are buying these SD cards 2. 128GB of high speed storage is now a default on even the cheapest of budget phones. If expandable storage was somehow a purchase driver, I want you to look up how many phones from any manufacturer actually have it...

The removed charger I make a living selling phones. If I told you how many people sell off their 2 year old phones, 3 year old phones, 4...with the charger and headphones (which you've probably not even noticed have not been shipping with any phone since 2017) still sealed and unused....it would probably blow your mind

TL:DR None of the things you've listed above have anything approaching a reason why a manufacturer's market share could decline. I don't have Samsung's or Apple's hundreds people marketing departments that have decades of data driving their sales decisions but even I can point out how all the above are non-issues. Samsung's mobile phone business is suffering because they essentially tried to be Apple, with all their anti-consumer practices such as removing headphone jacks and charging bricks. I mean that bang for the buck comes with a caveat, no? Xiaomi's UI isn't the best out there and my friends say that they have ads everywhere (like lock screen, on homepage, on some widgets and even in the settings). Ads are annoying but what's more annoying and potentially dangerous is the constant tracking required to serve personalized ads. We already have giants like Google and Facebook tracking us on their platforms (which can be prevented by using alternative services) but such ad delivering trackers which can be potentially nefarious is much more dangerous specially when it comes built in and embedded on your phone. Imagine how easy it is to steal data in such scenario. Unfortunately not everyone can install custom roms or has ability to understand it. Maybe I am missing something. Nothing to do with price and everything to do with devaluation of the galaxy slab phones by lowering specs and stripping features from the note 10 onwards, Samsung has raped the crap out of the galaxy models and then for a real kick in the goolies , removed the charger and any sort of buds in the box , and then for the final upper cut deleted the note from sale to upsell the fold models. Apple sold phones with similar pricing and some of pro models are even slightly more , but apple sold more iPhones and is expecting to sell even more this year . For those of us who do more interesting things with our phones, like SSH, RDP/VNC, spreadsheets, word processing etc; it's not an aesthetic choice; any blemish gets in the way of being able to get stuff done, and hinders productivity because you either have to move content to see what you need to see, or you are making assumptions that could lead to critical mistakes.

However if you look at long time convenience features that many of us still use that Samsung has now omitted , and also now done away with the charger and and any form of buds , all of a sudden the Galaxys we once bought for having all the features and most of us where happy to pay a bit extra for ........ are gone ! I know the S21 Ultra is still a great phone , but compared to older model galaxys , it is much more spartan of features in some ways , apart from the dex and zoom , , it looks a lot like an iphone pro max the way it is equipped , and you can argue which one has the edge in features , both still have their own edge in certain ways , but i bought an iphone for the first time in my life ..... and it was samsungs strategy that did that . A couple of things i do like about the Iphone , the flat wide display , no curved edges to cause ghost touch or make it slippery to hold or to make it nearly impossible to buy a tempered glass screen that will stay on , it has the premium chipset regardless of what country i live in , also the 5 years of guaranteed updates even if i dont keep the phone adds value as i know i can keep it for the long haul if i want . Too add insult to Injury the omission of the note this year , and again it probably would have been less featured anyway , it is hard to make a case for buying a galaxy as many of us once would . I really couldn’t care less for UDC, especially if the quality goes backwards as is reported , which I’d say is a bit ironic i think , as samsung for years had a very average selfie cam until the last couple of models it improved heaps , but now apparently that quality is being sacrificed to just be trendy with an under display camera for those few that are offended by a small punch hole camera. It’s poor marketing decisions focusing on stuff that does not matter while crapping on the stuff that does that sees sales declining.

Samsung phones are very confusing in the mid & lower range section. One can’t really get through which one to buy or which one is latest or older model. They overprice their high end phones in the beginning then reduce price a lot to meet sales target. This has a huge impact on customers trust.

Samsung's Biggest mistakes - 1) In Flagships - Removing Iconic features such as SD Card slot , Headphone jack , Using Plastic ( like seriously ?? In S21 they used plastic ) , giving 1080p screen in 800$ s21 which costs even more in india . 2) In Budget and Mid range - This market just works on value . And samsung doesn't make good value for money phones. Previously they were good phones , not the most value for money phones but good phones. But in recent times they have been releasing Shit products in budget and midrange while some other brands like Xiaomi and Realme are literally giving Flagship Level devices at mid range prices . I forgot the main things - removing akg earbuds and charger .

@TheNeroKennedy 3 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I don't find the plastic thing that much of a big issue. Most people i know that own the s21 phone immediately put case on nowadays. Sure the tech focus people get angry at it, but the majority customer don't seem to really care. If apple can get a best seller phone with a low quality screen for the price, then it show most people don't care how the back of a phone gonna be made out of. But agree with you on the other points though

Some are just complete scams . Like their A12 has Helio P35 at 12kINR ( 161$ ) . And other specs are also very bad

With under-display cameras the camera can be placed right at the center of the display so users can look directly at the person they're talking to.

I absolutely hate notches and screen obstructions. I think they're the worst thing that's ever happened to phones and all because of Apple. The entire industry seemed to get rid of notches and release innovative designs expecting Apple to do the same after the iPhone X horrible screen design and they failed to deliver, so companies that once had pop-up cameras, slider designs, etc all of a sudden decided to bring back the stupid notch, then the hole. I'd rather take bezels any single day if I had to choose between screen obstruction and bezel. Luckily I don't, I've a MI Mix 3 5G on a slider and it's amazing. Why do you think pop-up cameras never took off? That was THE best security decision that was made in that year. I still use phones with tiny bezels so that way I can put a piece of electrical tape on the camera. Get a metal school hole punching tool and punch out the electrical tape OR a black painted window decal sticker people put on their sliding glass doors so their dogs don't run into the glass. Easy on, easy off. Or you could be like me and have the ability to open the phone up and disconnect the camera hardware. It's just a ribbon cable. You can still reseal the phone and leave the front camera inside the phone body.

My experience with using the MS Virtual Desktop as it is independent from the hardware that I actually use. For light / checking tasks I can even access it from from my iPhone. I am during this for over 3 years now. Regarding the price as I most likely use alow end Virtual machine, the Microsoft offer is very good as it comes in at below 1000$ over 3 years getting any decent laptop that lasts 3 years for that price is not feasible. The fact that time for set up was about 2h from putting in the request to receiving my credentials and having it all work was amazing as well. I am considering getting a fold 3 and change it for a note when they release it. if they had made a note 9 but with updated specs I would preorder in a flash, I do not really care for under screen selfie camera I actually prefer a notch.

Another problem with Samsung phone department, they are spending money and resources on dozens different models. They should focus premium quality model like galaxy s series and have a midrange budget friendly models like galaxy A series

I've been using their S series for years and the only major problem with their phones is heat management on Exynose chip. I'm currently using S21 ultra Exynose and it could easily become very hot. Yesterday, it went crezily hot even when I was only on video chat. And finally, i was forced to turn off the phone and switch to iPhone.
