Looking back after a year, the S22 Ultra is still an impressive smartphone with its QHD, 120hz display and standout feature, the 100x space zoom camera. However, the Exynos chipset limits its camera processing and overall performance, affecting battery life and lowlight performance. Despite this, the video stabilisation is fantastic and the design is gorgeous. Fortunately all wrongs have been written right with the release of the S23 Ultra - next weeks Tech Take!

I'm in gulf and we have the exybos, but I ordered mine online just to get the snapdragon. It was worth the extra step just to secure the better version.

Im still using my Note 8, its been great for years but recently I noticed the battery perfomance not doing too well when I use maps, and bluetooth at the same time the battery goes quite fast 😢 so im looking for a new one but it lasted me a loooong time

@@Omar13t the most I've gotten out of it from 100 is about 11 hrs or so bcuz I use it hard for making videos, playing games & what not plus my screen scroll settings are at the max. If I turned down the definition screen I could get way more

This is not sustained. I see many under the assumption that the "extra brightness" slider allows you to reach a sustained 1750 nits brightness - with OLED panels, that's never the case. That's a rarity as its accounting for a 1% window. It's actual peak brightness across the display is alot closer to 1200 nits.

@@Kingkop38_ He is kid :D He thing he is king with snap, but he don't understand processors and he posted this without comparing them haha Snapdragon is more overheating (because it's dragon haha) and little more battery consuption (cause dragon is powerfull, (NOT in this phone)), so performance is same (maybe 0.1% difference) photos are honestly worser on exynos (but i dont care) Battery on exynos is better by bit, overheating is smaller so thank god i'm from europe, i'm happy exynos user (ofc if i have to choose exynos or snapdragon 8 gen 3 from s24 ultra i go for snapdragon.. it's completely different story)

Less powerful ? That's not really accurate, you can see online, speedtest, benchmarks, between the snapdragon and exynos and sometimes one is better, and sometimes the other is so yeah

If you're saying that as a UK user, then I'd argue your advice holds no merit. When the S24 Ultra releases, I'd just say, hold up, wait for the S25 Ultra. The S23 Ultra is a significantly better phone than the S22 Ultra for UK users. It's a night and day difference.

@@SufyanMussoodIt really is not for the average user. Gaming is where the difference can actually be seen. The average person is not upgrading their device every year. You could come from a dumpster fire to the s22 and see a massive difference. You must've gotten a defective exynos model. Get your battery replaced under warranty. Apart from gaming there is no difference between the s22 Snapdragon/Exynos. Battery life if such a concern is an issue on both devices even then they can last a whole day.

My s22 ultra kind of runs like crap sometimes. Battery is ok. My lg v60 that I still use just as much is in many ways a better and more reliable device on the daily

I specifically noted the performance is lacking with the European version as we had Exynos chipsets vs the Snapdragon and if you're still reluctant to think there's any difference in performance, just check benchmarks. Chipsets affect everything from performance, camera quality and battery.

New benchmarks show it's not less powerful it was just ahead of its time and I'm talking about the exynos 2200. It beat snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in Ray tracing benchmarks by a long shot so people just needed to be patient but na

@rajakoduri9343 I agree at the end of the day it all depends on developers. But I think no one will support tit since not many people use this gpu.unless an until samsung releases it again and majority of people start using it I don't see any major support if that doesn't happen

Share these benchmarks with me. The Exynos chipset is notoriously inefficient and remains so. I still have the S22 Ultra & the difference between the S22 and S23 Ultra is night and day.

Mon problème avec le S23 Ultra c'est l'écran, même si c'est Amoled mais celui du S22 Ultra est vachement plus attirant ( je trouve) Autrement dit, j'étais séduit par le Zte Axon 40 Ultra juste pour l'écran, mais par contre le caméra frontale et le reste n'est pas au niveau.

Just got rid of my 21u which had 12gb of ram and upgraded to s22 ultra and i swear its not as smooth and gets even laggy sometimes and overall i feel like the expirence is better on my s21. Also the battery is terrible on this s22u but to be fair it is refurbished by music magpie which may expalin why.

The problem is not exynos, it's having 2 processors in the market, they should get rid of snapdragon and focus on exynos, it's cheaper and they could easily optimize it for everything

The problem is Exynos here though. At this point in time, the Exynos chipset is far inferior to the Snapdragon counterpart hence why if I was Samsung, I''d simply move away from the inefficiencies of Exynos and develop it further until they command a much stronger position and then release that universally. Not drip feed it to UK users and give everyone else Snapdragon.

yeah even with my iPhone 12 pro i couldn't do video calls. so i switched to my brother's s22 ultra. this phone has so many features man. and smooth as butter.
