This side by side review format is great. Its often hard to picture what someone means when they say "X is brighter than Y" and whether I could notice the difference or express a preference. I hope you will do more in his format, and possibly add in some pc gaming time as well.

I don’t understand your reasoning, because you talk about saving around $200. But a tv you buy once in 5 years, some even 8 years. Those $200 is nothing if you look at the total timeframe. Same for products a a bed where you sleep. It’s not that you buy shoes or something. It’s a thing you use EVERYDAY, the next 3 to 8 years. Get the best!

As a C1 owner for almost a year now, the extra blue can be solved by turning the colors warmth down to warm 50 instead of the default. That will get the colors to a more realistic color tone on the LG. I understand this is an uncalibrated review, however, I think anyone looking to purchase a TV in 2022 needs to understand that some calibration, however miniscule, will be required for certain content. Being a gamer, this calibration is definitely needed regardless of tv purchased. I have calibrated my older Samsung 6 series even. I used it since 2017, about 4 years, before I got the C1 last year. All tvs will have different settings based on content being viewed as well and need to be adjusted accordingly for the optimal viewing experience. Whether that be SD, HD (with or without HDR), or Dolby Vision. Most of which can be done at home following a Google search or KZfaq video. No need to fork over that extra money for someone else to do this work for you.

@@Jackboy497 it's all in personal preference. Obviously, I am a little bias being a C1 owner. It is the best TV I have ever owned, hands down. If you are a gamer and the TV will not be in a very bright space any OLED will be great. The viewing angle for OLEDs are amazing too and I didn't even realize how much better they are until visiting a friend's house and watching how the picture changed on his non-OLED based on my positioning around the TV.

I just bought the S95B after seeing them both in the flesh, at the same price. Obviously I couldn’t calibrate it in the shop, but there was something about the LG that I didn’t like. It appears almost cartoony compared to the rich depth of the Samsung. Some people may prefer this look, because some people do prefer Pepsi to Coke. If you’re considering either of these panels, deffo go see them in person first because they are very different out of the box.

This is about the 3rd or 4th video I’ve watched of yours so far (for reasons I’ll explain) and I not only wanted to thank you for putting such comprehensive and detailed information together but thought I’d throw in a few observations about the colours, brightness and highlights which may be helpful - apologies if others have already covered this (not read the comments yet). Found these videos as I’m currently considering buying the Samsung S95 QD (in Black Friday offers it’s now as low as £1,099). Have yet to watch your settings video, so don’t know what controls are available, but as an experienced photographer who colour calibrates their monitor I’d be interested how you can optimise the picture. May be your camera settings or impact of KZfaq, but interesting that you described the LG as being ‘more blue’ - whereas to my eyes the LG has a distinct green tint as well as a different, warmer colour balance setting. This tint combined with the warmer CB makes the greens look too strong, leaves neutral colours with a cast, though the Samsung looked as though it could do with lowering the white balance to warm up some scenes where you would expect the sun’s impact to give you colours that were sometimes a bit lacking. However side by side, the Samsung definitely looks the better out of the box provided some of the overcooked highlight issues can be set correctly. Our eyes tend to crave as much contrast as we can get, but depending on the dynamic range available, this can be at the expensive of blown highlights and crushed blacks. I doubt the menu options will be as detailed as most photographers are used to, but very interested to see how you calibrate and tweak the settings on the Samsung. Great videos 👍

I think there's a very important takeaway from this video. That being, that if you're in the market for a television, then the QDOLED is the one to buy, but if you already own an OLED, there is no reason to replace it with the QDOLED. While there is an obvious difference in brightness between the two, a person would be hard-pressed to notice any difference unless the TVs are sitting side by side.

I got the Samsung QN 95B Series 9 2022, and in fact I returned it. In six months of use it was deemed irreparable. Perfectible colors, except with NETFLIX, and again. Tizen the operating system crashes, or the tv does not turn on (unless you remove the power plug ten times...). Also pitiful service, and perfectible product that smells there can be close. I regret this purchase and I had to fight to win my case (reimbursement) because the TV was declared irreparable by the after-sales service, after 6 interventions on this television. So just run away I ordered the LG OLEDC2 which arrives at the end of the week Stay tuned

Similar situation except my current Samsung Q60T has been working fine, I just want to upgrade to a larger OLED and thought for sure I'd settled on the LG C2. I was looking forward to seeing what Dolby Vision was all about... But I'm just no hearing about this Samsung. I'm starting to feel like the absence of DV wouldn't be such an issue given just how bright yet oled-like the contrast and wider color gamut is. The issue I have with demoing these things in stores is how I can't put on what I want to display. I'd like to put a 4k disc of the same movie on side by side, but on the C2 play it in Dolby Vision while on the Q95B play it in regular HDR. What have you found since taking a look at them?

The reason for the difference in Stranger Things (and possibly other examples) is due to that show being Dolby Vision, and the Samsung S95B not supporting Dolby Vision. When watching it on the Samsung you're getting a standard HDR10 experience instead.

I agree with your assessment. At the 65” size, the Samsung is 30% more expensive in the U.S. That is substantial. On a separate point, are you sure that there is not a problem with your review model of the C2. The green and blue tint that it exhibits seems excessive, at least compared with my C1 (which is not the same TV to be sure, but neither is it terribly different).

My takeaway: The technology Samsung is using is superior, but the software isn't maxed out yet. LG is using a technically inferior and older technology, but a more mature processor. Ultimately, I believe QD-Oled will come out ahead, but it might be a few generations away. I'm going to stick with LG for this cycle, but I applaud the competition. Great video!

@@mariomario7379 I legit just exchanged it for the C2. I've had it for about 2 hours now. Yeah, it's incredible. I do sort of miss some of the brightness but I think I'm ultimately happy with the C2. In some cases you can see a huge difference between one to each other due to the HDR standard that are displaying, not for the TV processing, the display technology, calibration and gamma. One perfect example is the Stranger Things scene 5:57. This scene, on the left, is being displayed in HDR 10 in the Samsung S95B and on the right side for the LG C2 in Dolby Vision. There are two different versions, with one dedicated grading for each of them. In this case, they look far different.

In that case Samsung did good job out of box colour accuracy vs LG. LG need a good tweak pretty much so to fix the green and cyan cast. But I like LG due to polariser filter is used so the reflection is a lot less distraction than Samsung. Samsung has not got it so it is very distracting with pinkish on screen when light source is front of tv or windows in front of tv.

Both TVs are excellent. But I understand that the Samsung S95B has a panel called QD-OLED which is the most top and new of the moment but it is designed to avoid burns for $200 to $500 dollars plus which in the future you will realize that you did not vote your money. According to LG the OLED Evo is designed for better energy consumption but nowhere does it say that it will never get LED burn-in in the future while the QD-OLEDs do mention it to you. I think the smart thing to do is to save $200 to $500 more and lock in your investment 3 to 5 years from now.

As a c2 user for desktop work (42) I honestly couldnt be happier, once everything was tuned that is. Out of the box, the color settings suck and the default energy savings mode that disables half the options is a pain. I wish manufacturers had all of these this off by default letting the end user decide as being honest, the menus/interfaces always suck and sometimes finding important features like the power saver setting (to turn it off) can be a bit of a pain.
