THANK YOU, Mr. Kovacs!! I spent over an hour trying to remove the identically-built dispenser drawer from my KENMORE top-loading washer (c2015 model). The Kenmore manual also says there are 3 compartments (there are 2) and to pull and tilt the drawer to remove. After trying to do what the manual said I came to KZfaq and found your wonderful video. In only two minutes you helped me get calm and get the drawer out. (Ugh, mold in the softener part! Healthy now!) Straight forward and encouraging directions, sir, and thanks so much. When the drawer went back in easily I yelled 'hooray' and now say 'Thank you!' to you. (I hope KENMORE washer owners will use your video.)

We have a slightly different Samsung model. The tabs that you have to push out of the way are on the machine just to either side of drawer instead of attached to the drawer, so use a flathead screwdriver and push outwards . Thanks so much for posting your video, would not have figured it out otherwise!

Thank you for this video. This is way more useful than Samsung's website. They don't show how to remove this style of drawer on the documentation I found. They show how to do two other drawers that are different, though. Thanks to you, I can unclog my fabric softener dispenser.

Yep, I just had the same problem too. I used a screwdriver to pull the tabs out on the sides holding it in, but I will try your method next. I figured I couldn't be the only one scared of breaking the drawer, and with this video and all of the comments, sure enough I am not the only one. Thanks for sharing this video and cheers.

I have an lg and it's the same thing! This video was very helpful! Better then the manuals they give us! I thought my detergent dispenser was broke cuz it would come right out and my fabric softener was hard to take out with the drawer in , now I see that's just the way it is

O-M-G.... I have had this exact washer for quite a few years and I finally got sick of struggling with this damn drawer & wanted it OUT...not just detergent side insert. I knew I'd break it if forced. But the softener side had sticky black gunk .. disgusting! Tonight I did a Google voice search & this video popped up. Glory Hallelujah! I got the thing OUT.... but my fingers were definitely not as strong to push those verticle sides in. I had to use my thumbs. A million thanks to you for posting this. I've wasted so much time trying to follow the manuals obviously incorrect instructions. CRAZY! You described it all perfectly, including putting the darn thing back in place because that, too, was intimidating at first try. I wonder how many people have had to bicker with the manufacturer to get replacement drawers and slot piece after busting off the plastic nubs on the edges. A million thanks! 🤗😘

For some reason I tried to do this last night and was not able to. I contacted Samsung and their amazing idea was to make a service request and get a tech take a look at it. With it being out of warranty this would have costed some money. I tried this again today and was able to take it off! Thanks!!

Thank you!! I looked up the directions at the Samsung website after I couldn't get the drawer out just my fiddling with it, and then even those directions didn't work. I found your video, and I see I'm not the only one who has this problem. I stopped your video part-way through to go try what you said, and at first it didn't work. But then you mentioned the tip of removing the detergent side so the "box" of the drawer flexes easier, and that did the trick! (I have arthritis so my hands aren't that great.) For anyone else reading this and having trouble with the above directions, make sure to try removing the detergent side of the drawer, since you can do that while the drawer is still in the machine.

Thanks, by the time I do it again I’ve forgotten how to remove, I find that from Underneath with the detergent dispenser removed pull on the support bar, it’s much easier, don’t forget to pull BOTH max line intakes and clean!👍

Thank you for a clear and concise demonstration of how to get the drawer out. It was very helpful. In my unit, the tray on the right (for detergent) is actually two pieces. So all together you've got 3 blue pieces ... not that it matters.
