Staying with a Pennsylvania theme, check out PA Dutch style chicken and waffles. It’s essentially shredded chicken in gravy ladled over a waffle, usually served with mashed potatoes and maybe corn. It’s so good. It’s been a staple at volunteer fire company fundraising dinners and Sunday evening suppers for years here.

Another puzzled resident of San Jose who has never heard of this combo (thought I’m definitely going to try it! Similarly confused Redditors point to an East Coast Mexican food chain (makes sense given the message was from PA), Plaza Azteca. They describe the “Burrito San José” thus: “One flour tortilla filled with grilled chicken, chorizo, rice and beans, topped with cheese sauce, pico de gallo and sour cream.” So there you go!

Hey Sam, you should try and make the Australian “Burger with the Lot” a cheese burger, with the standard onions, tomato and lettuce but with the addition of bacon, egg, grilled pineapple and beetroot! It’s a staple in Aussie takeaway shops all over the country. No fancy sauces either, just bbq sauce or tomato sauce (ketchup).

It looks so good! I’ll have to try it! At the end of the video you mentioned adding suggestions on what to make next. So here’s mine: Breakfast meals without eggs or breakfast meals made with egg substitutes. Right now egg prices are super high which sucks if you love egg dishes for breakfast or eggs for baking. But it’s been such a great example of supply and demand for my Econ students. Anyway I would love to see what you would come up with for a breakfast w/o eggs or breakfast with egg substitutions 😊

Fun fact: The reason American cheese (process cheese) works so well for sauce, is the ingredient sodium citrate. It prevents the emulsion from breaking when heated. So if anyone has tried to make a cheese sauce with natural cheese, and it just turns into a stringy oily mess, throw a pinch of sodium citrate or a few slices of Kraft in and it will make it hold together, and produce a very smooth consistency.

I grew up in so Cal currently going to school in San Jose. The chicken-chorizo isn't a San Jose thing from what I know, we have lots of different cultures and religions in one area and I think that business tend to keep it separate. However, there is one thing that you missed the mark on big time, and that's the sauce my friend. There are many iconic places the top two being Cali-spartan a cash only joint nestled right by SJSU's campus and La Victoria taqueria the most famous place with its iconic 'Orange Sauce'. Every place in San Jose has this sauce and it is each places variation on a chipotle salsa/aioli some use mayo some are more watery. its typically chipotle peppers and garlic with a variety of spices from oregano, cilantro, lime juice to form the perfect emulsion, but the rest has been kept a well-guarded secret. No 2 sauces taste the same from my experience and I've had orange sauce from over 10 different trucks and restaurants. It is truly San Jose's secret sauce, and I would love for you to try it, u can buy the sauce online from La Victoria Taqueria's website if u want but I would say come to the south bay and try it for yourself.

Sam just so you know, you were correct. When you’re turning your meat on the grill, you’re turning them 90 degrees not 45. The grill marks are diamond (or square) shaped and a square consists of four 90 degree angles. Go back to that guy and “school him”! Just kidding! No, but seriously. Go. Keep up the great work. Chicken paprikash or goulash with homemade spatzle 2. Ćevapčiči (Balkan grilled meatballs) or pljeskavica (amazing Balkan hamburgers) with lepinja (a burger roll on steroids). 3. Georgian khachapuri, either "cheese boat" style from the Black Sea coast or "Imeruli" which is more of a Georgian quesadilla.

Sam, here’s a meal my family has at least once or twice a month because it’s quick, easy, and tasty. We call it Chicken Rice Wraps and I think I found the recipe on the back of a food package about 20+ years ago. You cut up 1lb of chicken and brown it in a pan. Then add 2 cups water, 1 cup of salsa, and a packet of taco seasoning and bring to a boil. Stir in 2 cups of minute rice and cover. Cook on low for 5 minutes then serve on a tortilla with some sour cream and shredded cheese. I’m sure you could spice it up and do it as a “1-pan” or “15-minute” meal. Love the show and my STCG knives. Best wishes!
