I had to go and watch the sword episode before watching this one. I already knew some of this, but confirmation is always a bonus. Anyone intrested should check out Red Sun, a Samurai Western starring Charles Bronson as the antihero and Toshiro Mifune as a samurai who uses a bunch of bo shuriken( what i know as a shaken) very effectively. Another highly educational episode.

As far as I knew, a shurikan was a " flying blade" so any thrown blade was a shurikan. Would love to see a penetration test between the two styles of throwing.

@@AdamCeladin I throw knives, leaf style and stiletto style. The stiletto style when I'm angry will literally punch through the target. While the leaf style will bounce out. Makes me curious.

@@AdamCeladin could you give me a tip why that happens? When I am calm, the knives stick. When I am angry, the slim blades go completely through the target and into my door. Is it the way I throw? Or is it the emotion driving the blade? My target is an old wrapped paper dart target. It's on the back of my front door. The slim blades are semi leaf balanced. The heavies are blazing arrow half pounders.

@@AdamCeladin That guy seems to have great knowledge about samurai tradition, but the way he throws seems really not efficient in fight. I don't care about fight, i throw for pleasure and ernergies, but i can't understand he may use this in fight.

@@nikobnaish8570 Its more of an illusion watching it in video, same when Adam performes throwing while moving, it looks easy and maybe kinda comical but in real life its a different story, you know best from own experience. If you look on the penetration from master Jakub throws its pretty deep considering its light weight.
