斎藤の刀が折れたときのBGMの盛り上げ方熱すぎる BGM自体が良いってのもあるけど、どのタイミングでその曲を流すかっていう演出の仕方にもセンスが必要なんだなってのがわかる

25年以上の前のアニメでこの作画、この臨場感、最高のタイミングに流れ出す気持ち昂ぶる挿入歌。ゾクゾクしたあの時を思い出すわ。リメイク版は嬉しいけど、この時と比べたら天と地の差…。そのまま再放送してくれたらよかったのになぁ。

今観ても本当に素晴らしい BGMも作画も演出も。この戦いが始まる直前、剣心が帰ってきたのが黄昏時で徐々に日が落ちて暗くなっていって、刀身や剣心の目の光が際立って…という部分や途中で剣心の結いていた紐が解けて髪が落ちるのも良い剣心に手を伸ばした薫の声が音声として無音になるのも「剣心に声が届かない」ってのを表してる

目の色が変わらないと幕末時代の抜刀斎に戻る変化がわかりづらい。それに声優BGM演出テンポ等の違いで重さ怖さ冷徹さの雰囲気が全てリメイクでは失われてる。懐古厨でも構わない。この時代のアニメ凄すぎる。

A lot of hand drawn old school techniques and actual ink and paper and cel animation. Now a days it’s all done digitally which is way easier now but perhaps it’s lost some of its soul. A price to pay.

リメイク版が酷いんじゃなく、こっちが映画とかのレベルすら上回る程すごいだけ。作画とか音響とか完璧な事を加えて、抜刀斎の恐ろしさ〜といったありとあらゆるものが適切に素晴らしい表現がなされてる。これと比べられたらリメイク版が可哀想。リメイク版もよく頑張ったと思う。

リメイク版はやっつけ仕事みたいに感じる。なぜこんなにも素晴らしい旧版からああなったのか。良い場面はそのままにしないまでも、きちんと自分たちの解釈を入れて製作しないと。それが感じられない。製作陣の才能の問題か。

The remake did a good job with the fight and I think some of the some of the attacks feel heavier and the speed feels faster in the new version, but this version of Saitou vs. Kenshin just has so much more soul. The blue color palette, the change in Kenshin's eye color and his ponytail coming undone as a physical change to Battousai. The animation flourishes like the shot of Saitou's feet as he leaps forward in the Gatotsu, and Saitou spitting out a tooth also bring so much to this scene. This episode and the one following are perfection.

i like the remaster generally, but this fight was better in the OG. its clearer what each character was doing. i couldnt tell what saito did with his belt cause it wasnt shown clearly, amongst other things

刀を振る意味、その重さが一秒一秒丁寧に込められている気がする。殺す、殺さずっていう物語の柱の部分が極めて鋭利に描かれていて本当にたまらないです。

What makes Ruruoni Kenshin so sad is that it is a manga about regret. about the life of Kenshin lived in regret. Regret is probably the saddest of all human emotions.

The music, the VAs, the animation. It surpasses the remake by far. How I was rooting for the remake to be better but it was so subdued and boring in comparison to not only my memory but to this very same version before me.

8:57 この「やめんかー‼︎」の人でお馴染みの川路利良は大久保利通に隠れちゃったけど実は島津斉彬の同伴を務め、禁門の変では戦功を挙げ、戊辰戦争に官軍大隊長として参戦。初代警視総監に任じられ、西南戦争では抜刀隊を率いて最前線で戦い抜いた。左之助の言う激動の京都を生き抜いて維新後の混乱期を警察組織を率いて鎮静化させたガチの英雄。なおこの人の故郷鹿児島では銅像は建っているものの人気はイマイチな模様、西郷の敵に回っちゃった人だからね仕方ないね♂

Right there at 5:46, the music shift into the usual theme for the series kicking in as Kenshin utters such a cold line is completely missing from the new rendition of the fight.

@@thx-nk7mwthere were some small details that made the original much better. - Kenshin's hair loosen up after the tie broke - Saito losing a tooth - the fight where kenshin re-sheaths his sword - that yellow eyes everytime he's going back to being battousai (if i remembered correctly, this was the last time he had those yellow eyes)

bruh but Saito stabbed kenshin first he could have sliced through kenshin's body but instead he pulled back his sword. Saito's intention was not to kill kenshin in the first place but to convince him to join and fight shishio

@@wahoomario4323Yes and no, when he got stabbed he had not yet become his Batusai self, that blow would be very easy for him to dodge. It is also true that Saito had not yet prepared to fight against Batusai, so he was not mentally ready to receive such an attack, otherwise he would have easily dodged it as well.

懐古厨って言葉よく出てくるけど、そもそもリメイク版がよく「軽い」って言われるお決まりのパターンに辟易してるのかも。シリアスさは薄くなるし、画がなんか子供っぽい、映像としては明らかに綺麗になってるものの、動きのメリハリみたいなところが流れちゃってる印象。シティハンターやスラムダンクの映画版観た時も同じ残念さを感じたかな。ゲームも映像が進化して「（痛さとかの）衝撃」が伝わりにくくなったイメージ。綺麗なのはいいんだが、粗いのにも良いところはある。

No wonder why Hiko Seijuro keep calling Kenshin as a fool apprentice.. he need 4x of gatotsu strikes to learn how to dodge it, while Shishio just need once.. maybe Hiko Seijuro would be happy to have an apprentice like Shishio..

@@Kotak_Kalibrasi coba ikutin bener d era feodal yg sama2 masih jd hitokiri yg no1 itu sisio makanya paling d buru pas pemerintah saat itu bukan batosai. Pas ketangkep kan d hukum dgn d bakar hidup2 d kira sudah mati itu sisio, g taunya masih hidup, itu pake perban semua kek mumi kan sbg peredam rasa panas dia efek samping hukuman dulu. Kalo sisio fit, sehat kek jaman feodal g yakin batosai bs menang. Kensin sendiri g yakin kan bs ngalahin sisio makanya dia nyari gurunya buat ngajarin teknik tertinggi hiten mitsurugin buat nandingin kekuatan sisia, d tambah lg aura pembunuhnya dah kek jaman feodal dulu jd teknik bertarungnya berkurang.

This was a great fight with a great buildup but once Kenshin hit Saito in the back of the neck at 3:30 it was over. If Kenshin had a normal sword he would have cut Saito’s head off. Kenshin won.

Saito had plenty occasions to kill Kenshin prior to that, so it doesn't matter
