We are taking you on a Bangkok day trip to Samut Songkhram. This is a place in Thailand where tourists don't go. We are visiting Samut Songkhram coconut farm (another unique experience in Thailand). Our favourite thing to do in this vlog was for sure visiting coconut farm in Thailand as this is our favourite drink and fruit.

The sad story of Thai coconut industry is that Europe bans our coconut products as they allegedly accuse us of using monkey to bring coconut down from the tree. As a matter of fact, it is traditional way to harvest coconut but there are only few people doing this nowadays. As modern coconut industry requires bigger production, the traditional way is obsolete long ago. They change the way to harvest coconut by growing shorter coconut tree as you can see in the video. So, they can bring down the coconut easier by human and transit them along the man-made canal.

In thailand we make sugar from sugar cane,palm and coconut from coconut and palm we will cut or squeeze the flowers for nectar that we call fresh sugar we boiled the for sterlize then put in the bottle like syrub and boiled more until sticky or dry to make coconut sugar, if you put this kind of sugar with your coffee or tea they make you coffee more scences😊

Coconut is closely integrated with Thais from curries (made with coconut milk), coconut ice cream (the original Thai ice cream existing at least 70 years before modern variety of ice cream was introduced into Thailand. Coconut oil is used to nourish skin as well.

I grew up in a similar atmosphere in a province adjacent to Samut Songkhram. My mother gave birth to me the night she climbed to collect coconuts despite being pregnant for 7 months. Thank God for everything. But when times change, many things change. The atmosphere changes as the place you guys visit, less natural decorated as a tourist attraction. But not everyone can do that.

Really interesting vlog team D & D 🤣. I have never tasted the 'skinned' coconuts. A must for my next visit to Thailand. How do they harvest the coconuts? With so many trees I am assuming they either fall down when they are ripe or they use long ladders or a cherry picker? 🤔

Its so good John 🥰 they have shorter coconut trees so they do not have to use monkeys, they have long stick with a knife and they chop it down, then coconut falls into that canal we were on a boat and they collect it on that boat we were on 😉

I think if Diggy had a bowl of Thai noodle soup with 2 runny poached eggs, a small warm coconut juice while on a boat through a Thai river underneath thousands of palm trees while the captain of the boat was teaching her Thai, then a fire coconut flesh sandwich with pandan covered Chinese donuts INSIDE the flesh, her mind would probably explode! 🤣 She's like a little kid discovering the world around her for the first time.

There are 2 types of burnt coconut, the real burnt coconut, burn the coconut by fire as you seen, other one, boil the coconut then decorate by burner torch, the results are different.

Where are the monkeys , some people in Europe said they use monkeys to harvest 1,000 million of coconuts per year there and do not allow to sell coconut products in EU .

Still exist in the South in a very small scale farm, not industrial scale for at least 30 years now. It is a very rare sight to see a monkey picking off coconut from tree even if you try to find one.

Glad that you enjoyed coconuts, however you missed something. Along the roads in Samutsongkhram, and opposite of the coconut shop you visited there are many shops selling pomelos which is one of the best in Thailand. Pomelo here is called Khao Yai (Khao means white and Yai means big). You should have tried some because it tastes very good. In Thailand there are many kinds of pomelo, ie khao nampueng, khao tanggwar, tong dee and tuptim siam etc. But I like khao yai most.

คนไทยก็เพิ่งรู้เหมือนกันครับว่ามะพร้าวเผาจะลอกเนื้อมะพร้าวได้ แต่มะพร้าวต้ม(โดนคนขายต้มด้วย หลอกว่าเผาเอาไฟลนหัวหน่อยๆ)จะลอกเนื้อไม่ได้ เท่าที่ได้ยินว่าถ้ามะพร้าวจะเสียเขาจะเอาไปต้มเพื่อยืดอายุ(หรือเปล่านะ) แต่มันจะขึ้นราง่ายมาก เคยซื้อมาเยอะเสียหมด

Coconut can eat both water and meat,normaly Thai people eat not only water but also meat as well.Mostv of Thai traditional dessert uses coconut meat as an important ingredient.

"bankok" อ่านว่า"บางกอก" ไม่ใช่"แบ๊งค้อก" ฝรั่งมันอ่าน-พูดไม่ชัดไม่เป็นไร คนไทยดันไปเรียกเพี้ยนซะเองแทนที่จะบอกฝรั่งให้ถูกต้อง คำว่า"บางกอก"นี่เป็นคำที่ควรอนุรักษ์ไว้เลย.....

คำว่า มัน ควรใช้กับสัตว์หรือสิ่งของไม่ควรใช้กับคนหรือมนุษย์ดังนั้นคนที่ใช้คำว่ามันกับคนบ่งบอกถึงการศึกษาและสันดานและการอบรมของครอบครัว

เดี๋ยวนี้ หมา เรียก เขา ,แมว ก็เขา, ผักก็ เขา ตัวอะไรก็เขา เพี้ยนไปหมดแล้ว ..หน่วยงานด้านภาษา นิ่งเฉย ไม่มีเจ้าภาพแล้ว.ไม่รู้ว่าคนเหล่านี้ศึกษากันมายังไง ครอบครัวเขาคงสุภาพมากเลย.ผมชอบสายการบิน บางกอกแอร์เวย์ นะ ที่เขาไม่ดัดจริตไปตามฝรั่ง ยังคงใช้คำว่าบางกอกแต่คนไทยมากมายพูดตามฝรั่งแบงค๊อก แบงค๊อก แหม่ ทันสมัยจริงๆ ซึ่งคำว่า ค๊อก นี่ก็เป็นคำไม่สุภาพ ของพวกฝรั่งด้วยนะ.
