I’ve been saying we get an O’s - Phillies World Series with the O’s taking it in 6 games. My pick since the start of the season. The Dodgers are great but this season their bullpen is not quite there. They take the West but lose in the divisional.

So Gunnar Henderson (your 4th best Shortstop) hits 10 homeruns and actually wins MLB Player of the month but yall pick Mookie Betts who hit 6 homeruns🤔 And the Orioles just played the Reds and Elly De La Cruz( your #1 Shortstop) had only 1 hit the whole series and the Reds team had only 3 runs the whole series. gunnar henderson numbers are not as good as mookie bets or elly the la cruz, in fact he did not even deserve the player of the month of the american league because juan soto beats him in literally everything OPS, OBP, RBI, etc the only two things that gunnar has better is having 2 more homers and 2 more stolen bases.

Correction reds scored 2 runs in the series with starters giving up 0, that's Z E R O in 19 1/3 innings, and mckenna in center cost them one of those yesterday, so it should have been 1 run in the series. De LA Cruz had only had 2 hits in the series and struck out SIX times.

Rays sweep the Mets with the CC uniforms and skate ray caps. Got a burst of energy from Jonny DeLuca in centerfield and clutch, game tying HR by Randy Arozarena. Ryan Pepiot leaves the game with a lower leg contusion, but thankfully it was not serious. Will make his next start. The Tyler Glasnow-Pepiot/DeLuca trade has benefitted both teams.

Is Luis Arráez really worth MORE than what the Marlins ultimately got? From what I'm hearing, the Royals and Cubs were inquiring on him as well. The 2 batting crowns sound impressive, but when you dig deeper into the numbers, his WAR over the last couple yrs annually averaged to 4.65. Keep in mind that a player such as Ha-seong Kim, over that same period had an annually averaged WAR at 5.35.

Salvy plays for the Royals, where as Will Smith plays on one of the greatest franchises in the sport and one of the best teams in baseball currently in one of the largest cities. BUT, they both are great and we love them both.

@@FlippinBatsPod you’ve got to see that Will Smith is not only the most underrated catcher but he’s the most underrated player in MLB. He’s gotten 1 Allstar nod and none as a starter. He’s in the MVP race this season. It doesn’t mater that Dodgers are a better franchise than the Royals simply because Salvy is a perennial Allstar. Will needs some credit at this point imo. They have nearly identical stats right now.

Exactly my point. Who was available that AJ didn't get? Luzardo was the only name available, and AJ just said yesterday on Ben and Woods he was their first target. "You have to give to get, but Preller is always spending his prospect capital on bats." Yeah, if you ignore trading for Darvish, Snell, Musgrove and Cease. Yeah, by the looks of things you can expect to see that until the playoffs start. The Yankees will come back down to earth where they belong. I kinda see that already beginning. The O’s in my opinion have the brightest outlook in MLB for the next few seasons. Even better than the Dodgers and there’s is also great.

Ben... Ben.. Ben... The Phillies number 2? The 3-3 vs >.500 teams, Phillies at number 2? I mean yeah they are winning, but not against top teams. I can see the argument for the Dodgers who just beat the Braves, but the Phillies? The Orioles are 14-5 vs teams >.500 with a better run diff, won 3/4 vs the Yanks, and haven't given up more than 2 runs in a week. And they went down a spot? Oof. Let's stop just calling the O's fun, and actually break down why this team is so special. Yeah the Dodgers have Mookie, Freeman, Ohtani. Yanks have Soto, Judge. Other teams have stars as well, but no team in the league is deeper 1-26 and possibly 1-40 than the Baltimore Orioles. In the song "Orioles Magic" there is a verse "Every game has a different star" and that's the mantra for this team. When one player slumps others rise and pick up the slack. Guys like Cowser, Westburg, Mateo, heck even McKenna won't be talked about much but come up huge when needed on top of the big names like Adley, Gunnar, Santander. The 1B combo of Mountcastle/O'Hearn is the most underrated in the league. Then the pitching. No Bautista, No Bradish or Means til this week. G-Rod down now. The pitching staff has recent historically been the O's kryptonite, but MLB is in trouble if the O's pitch like they did this week. 8 runs given up in 7 games vs NYY/CIN. Run diff for the week at +21. 6-1 record for the week. 1. Orioles 2. Dodgers 3. Yankees 4. Phillies 5. Braves (Would understand flipping O's Dodgers though)
