Yep. The trains in California can get sketchy. One exception is L.A. Metrolink (not Metro Rail), because it isn't cheap. I was in Vancouver a couple weeks and there were some sketchy people on the trains there too, so it's everywhere. I wouldn't say travel is dangerous, but do watch over things.

@roachtoasties: There's no safe transit system anywhere in the entire World!!! I've even seen incidents on the subways in Japan!!!! Even the Paris Metro isn't safest all!!!! This is the same annoying music when I call VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE and have to wait around 2 hours plus to reach a customer service representative in the Philippines!!!! VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!!!
