I WAS RISED IN SAN FRANCISCO IN THE MISSION DISTRICT. I JUST LOVE IT. IT WAS GREAT, NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS. NICE PEOPLE LIVING THERE. LIVING IN DALY CITY WAS JUST GREAT TOO. I LOVE SAN FRANCISCO WITH ALL MY HEART AND I MISS IT SOOOO MUCH THAT IT PAINS ME EVERY TIME I JUST HEAR THE WORDS, SAN FRANCISCO.

I grew up in the Mission and still here. In the new building I moved into last year, I met 2 ppl. that also grew up in the Mission. We are rare, but there’s still a few of us that didn’t move away when the rent prices gone way up.

I loved living in the Mission from 1977-84. It was peaceful, cheap, sunny and cheerful. Lots of families. Nice people. Terrific foods and restaurants from all over the world. No crime, believe it or not. Just a wonderful place. Boy, has it changed. Now the taco stands have maitre d’s.

My cousin and I used to cruise the mission in his 71 Riviera from Daly City to San Francisco. I remember getting a Burrito by the BART station. Checking out cars and cholas with their big hair. Took me back. Thanks for posting.

Drove up regularly to SF from the Central Valley in the early to mid-80s. Park my car on a sidestreet, walked to Fisherman's Wharf, enjoyed the sights and seafood, and lazed away the afternoon. Walked to the car at sundown with takeaway clam chowder and calimari and cruised back to the valley on southbound 99. Nobody ever touched my parked car, I was not accosted by any bum, didn't see any homeless encampments, everybody minded their own business and life goes on. Those were the days. Glad it was in my lifetime.

I remember hanging out at the 24th street Bart station with friends in the early 80's, getting hella free food from the McDonald's across the street during the Olympics from their Monopoly game. Good times!
