I was living on Laguna and Grove Street in 1966 and the 21 Hayes was my favorite bus. Muni cost 15 cents, free if you jump on the back of the bus and held on to the cables.

Great to see this, I was 10 years old in 1966, remember walking around the city at almost any time of day or night with a Senior Relative. By 1969 you couldn't do it as easily, the city started getting weird and more dangerous. My favorite hang-out was Powell and Market watching the Hare Krishnas dance the summer of 1967. My Relatives had a billards place around the corner, I'd go Iceskating at that place at 11th and Market.

Must have been a wonderful, peaceful time. Housing was affordable, no car break ins, no smash and grab and rampant shoplifting, etc. It was the year before the Summer of Love.

Vincent... ignore the hateful, arrogant trolls. They have no idea how good it was back then. It really was great. Cowards behind a keyboard have no clue or reference point. 😆 Nothing but their cheap punk slap back baloney. I was 16 back then and knew the city blind folded. Every inch. I was born there. Haight Ashbury was the real deal. It’s a shit hole now.. no doubt, unless you are blind and totally stupid. Not even close to what it once was, except for any of the tourist landmarks that are left or they haven’t torn down. No sane tourist wants to go there now. So glad and blessed I sold out and got away. It’s a sodom and gommorah these days. A literal dump. Unless you were there back then, poser posters have zero comparisons to make because they really don’t know. It will never get back to it’s once great self. The lib’dems have made sure of that.
