God bless lily and Manny. Chinese small businesses suffered the greatest financial loss during the pandemic due to racism and discrimination. Many never got PP money from the government while big restaurants like Chris steak house got millions because they didn’t know how to fill out the forms. Let’s all go to the night market and do our part. As a neighbor to SF Chinatown I love strolling down there. There’s always something to buy or to eat there. I loved their chestnut ice cream cake sold during Chinese new year. I hope it’s still there. Love you Manny and Lily.

Hummmm, Chinatown businesses can go through the hurdles of setting up a permitted businesses in the city of San Francisco which required paperwork. Additionally, they have to fill out the “Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)” applications to accepted food stamps as tender. You mean to tell me they couldn’t fill out PPP paperwork. Thats an insult to any Chinatown business. Try and do better next time.

Just returned from Yokohama Chinatown. Food stalls is the answer to bring back the excitement. I loved seeing food served on the street. With the option to dine in or purchase from the outdoor stall. We need this. ❤. I’m happy to see this improvement

I've traveled to Thailand multiple times and the night markets there are always fun and filled with people. Great way to cut down operating costs for the owner and more affordable prices for consumers.

This night market is regular in asia. The difference is usa is closed at night and at night people are off at work. Everyrything is open for business during your time when your also working too and it will close when you get off to work. Asia is smart they make night market so people can enjoy their after work. Specially for noctornal people who enjoys night and comes home to sleep.

Maybe you're talking about the ones where you are. I've attended all of these Chinatown night markets. The food was pre-packaged in the restaurants and brought to the stalls, and replenished when they ran out. Completely clean and no hygiene problems. The prices were great. I bought tons of stuff that I can't usually afford so I saved money. There was also heavy police presence and volunteers monitoring traffic and trash. Completely orderly, clean and enjoyable.

I guess neighbors in SF will really have to dine in and dance in such "night" only market when there are no places, like shopping malls and famous iconic restaurants, to have good foods and fun. Supervisor Joel Engardio spearheaded the first night market in the Sunset District last year. It was a success. The food vendors were sold out.
